They can be cautioned themselves by showing dissent through action. It is in the rules.

Law 12: Fouls and Misconduct can be used as waving your hand about trying to get an opponent cautioned is either "showing dissent by word or action" or unsporting behaviour and can be cautioned.

Yes it is the rules, but very few refs actually use it. You see all the time players surrounding the ref, shouting him to take action or a player waving an imaginary card. If the refs start producing a yellow card for every person, it will soon stop! Maybe they should introduce a sin-bin rule for some offences, so if a player intimidates a ref or cheats to get another player booked, he get's 10 minutes on the side-line!

I can't remeber a change of ownership causing so much upheaval and unrest. I dread to think where the club will go if Malky does jump ship, except sink. We will have the post Graham Taylor/Dave Bassett thing all over again, where a chap (however able) is totally unsuited for Watford and goes/is shown the door within six months and our managerial merry-go-round will creak into action again.

We can ill afford Chris Houghton or Iain Dowie, but I'd plump for the success at Newcastle only to be kicked-out one and know full well we'd get the other

    Afternoon all

Back from France to find it's been raining and the lettuces have become triffids. Had a fine time cycling round the Ile de Re and checking out local wines, Pineau de Charentes, Cognac...not to mention some wonderful seafood in the local market.

Only one complaint, some incompetent parker left a nasty scrape on one wing of my almost new car - no note of aplogy left of course. Putting it right will add an unexpected £150 or so to the cost of the holiday.

I see we are a player or two lighter and more uncertainty surrounding the manager too. Uneasy times...

Who knows but GT is sounding off about Alex McLeish, the shinanigans between Birmingham and Aston Villa and how McLeish will become a pariah if he joins AVFC. The Birmingham fans will never forgive him and the Villa fans don't want him.

Absolutely - if you are not Scottish he makes it quite clear it is not for you - he will not even represent Britain in the Davis Cup - which is shabby as representing your country should be the highest honour you can achieve.

Evening All, A busy day removing old wall tiles from our sitting room. Originally the cottage only had one room, so everything from cooking on an old range to eating and sleeping was carried out in there. One of the elderly neighbours used to live in it many years ago, and brought up four children in it.

While hacking away I listened to Radio 5live, something I haven't bothered with for months. There was plenty of talk about the Villa-Brum managers job. No approach has been made by Villa, but some informal talks have taken place. Brum have refused to accept that the e-mail received is good enough for a resignation and are playing hard-ball on compensation, if they let him go. They are talking in terms of it being equal to the remainder of his contract.

Murray is the type of Scot that gives the place a bad name, a miserable whinging little pillock. I have to live up here and have a good crack with 99% of the locals but that 1% really is annoying.....he should be ginger

Absolutely Aberdeen - my bro lives near Ballater and the people round there are very friendly - often engage in banter - as you do - but all well intentioned - but Murray is just a spoiled brat - I don't know why the English press don't just ignore him and let him get on with it - he might soon not like not being the centre of attention

Very true - most folk around here don't particularly view him as a national hero, after all he openly admits that he went to live in Spain when he was 15/16 because he couldn't get what he needed here. It's the media that are the problem though - everytime he picks up a racket they try to whip up a public frenzy. I sense that he is totally uncomfortable around them too which doesn't help endear him to anyone.

Well he wants to win - which I applaud - but for obvious reasons I don't want to share his winning (not that he would want any Englishman to do) I'm just amazed so many English have not twigged he does not like them :)
