I'm afraid I disagree. Theo has many great qualities, but receiving a high ball with his back to goal and retaining possession is not one of them. It was Giroud going off that caused the issue. As Wenger himself said: "That is what you need in a team. He has these qualities, that of course is very important. We are small and technical... so to have a player up front to counterbalance that is important.'' Don't be surprised if, even if we do sign a striker in January, it isn't one of the ones you are all thinking of.
2 reasons why this is bullshit: 1 - Hull beat us at home 2 - you win this fixture 1-0 as well last season
But it did work, so we played a tactic that worked and got us the points. That isn't a reason to be negative and moan. Though i appreciate that was an attempt by you to actually take part in discussion rather than being the crazy guy in the corner And i' not suprised at all to see you taking the opportunity to slate Giroud despite him winning us 3 points today. Like you and many others in recent seasons with Ramsey and Walcott you've made your mind up about a player and no amount of evidence will get you too change your mind.
We've gone through a few tricky games and ended the year with a victory against a tough Newcastle side away. Our next 4 fixtures are all very winnable with the Spurs one at home being the most difficult, which we are favourites in. Home v Cardiff Home v Spurs Away v Aston Villa Home v Fulham
Right, so halfway through the premier league season and we are top of the table. Don't think any of us expected that at the start of the season! Now is the time to string together a load of wins and grow our lead at the top of the table as we have another couple of really tough runs of fixtures later on in the season.
I know it's irrelevant now, but what the hell was Jenkinson doing when he did not play that simple throw in to Bedntner when their GK was running back? Poor game intelligence from him. please log in to view this image
Yeah, Jenks should have got the **** on with that throw, practically nailed on second goal went begging there.
I snapped at him when he did that, swore my head off at the TV....really lack of intelligence and awareness from him.
Oh come in, he was clearly facing the wrong way and purposefully wasting time (rightfully) for the throw in ... He was just unfortunate that he was facing that way and therefore couldn't see Bendtner.
Good god man weren't you at the game? I thought you always went, hence justifying your position as lord over us ordinary plebs.
Yeah, poor awareness from Jenks there. I was screaming at the TV for him to throw the ****ing football to.... Bendtner....
Same, but as mentioned I think he saw the ball go out and thought he's a chance to run the clock down a bit, before he noticed that Bendy was all alone with the keeper 35yds out of his goal.
Sometimes we're accused of not closing games out properly and Jenks went for running down the clock rather than grabbing another. Better to kill the game off than risking a swift counter-attack, which Newcastle are capable of doing with the quality they have. You got to win ugly sometimes to win the big prize....
I agree with that, but to be honest if Jenks had spotted Bendy that was pretty much a nailed on second goal for us.
