Seen a few comments on different threads regarding Glen so here is a thread for everyone to get it out of their systems.

Johnson has 18 months left and already stated he wont be signing a new contract. It's believed he was offered a new one but with reduced wages.

This season he has been playing like a man asked to take a pay cut.

Personally I'd sell him in the summer rather than have him sleep his way through next season aswell.

  2. I don't think he should be here next season providing we can get a replacement. However, BR and Woy seem to love him

I'd sell him. He's been cack this season. And at 29 its perhaps time to move on for us.

Never really see him playing with any desire or passion.

Had enough, don't mind off form if your giving your all but he simply isn't doing that - looks disinterested, **** him off this window I say

When hes good hes good and when hes bad hes really bad

Had a great shot today, scores against Chavs mostly

All in all I'd prob keep him, he needs competition! When on form and hes attacking can be brilliant

I would if Flanagan and Kelly werent ****ed. Flanno is injured and Kelly is only back. Hell recall wisdom and sell Johnson now.

Agger, Skrtel, Enrique, Lucas, also Suarez to a degree who is obv irreplaceable and Stevie G who is LFC. Who have I missed?

Think Johnson should be moved on in the summer. He's been on the decline for the last two seasons, adequate player.

  9. Disagree with that. He hit a decent shot with his "swinger" but he took an age to line it up so Cech had got his self set and ready before Glen started to pull the trigger!

  10. Gerrard is slightly different to the others too but I do think we need to faze him out like Man Utd have with Giggs, just need the players to be able to do it.

Enrique and Suarez only arrived a short time before BR (12 and 18 months respectively) so I wouldn't include them in the equation.

The other four (Johnson, Agger, Skrtel and Lucas) plus Reina are who I mean. I don't think Lucas will be going anywhere but all the others will IMO, just not in one go. I think at least two plus Reina will go in the summer.

Sell the ****er and sign Gerrez or Bluff.

    Both very underrated RB's <ok>

  12. I just got out of playing RB, I'm not going back. I won't do it! £30k per week you say? Okay, I'll do it since you asked nicely :)

It's a debate that's becomes less and less with every performance or lack of one.

On one hand I've heard "we won't get anyone better" but that has to be on the assumption this is drop in form and not permanent attitude. But if he's already stated no new contract (source?) Then that confirms its attitude. So performance level so far (half a bloody season!) and reason behind it makes me declare that every RB in the league is a better option if committed because form will not return without change in attitude and our club aren't going to give him what he wants .

I've discussed in a roundabout way tonight if Flanagan would be an improvement (on the basis that we can't get "CL class" in window) my opinion is "just ok player" giving 100% is always better than "class player" giving nothing. And Mark my words GJ has gave nothing but one, singular cross this year. Every time he gets the ball he now reminds me of Stuart Downing: slow of thought, slow of action . Turning up and taking his pay and not one effort more. At least he isn't doing weekly interviews lying about how hard he will work to improve like Downing did .

Problem: who would buy him and pay his current wages, even if they believe he'd start performing like the GJ of old?

  14. Many of you will know my thoughts on Gerrard and the one aspect of his game that annoys the **** out of me; immediately after he or a teammate loses possession and he is still within close proximity of the ball, he turns his back on play and his team mates. IMO, there are two players that do this, obviously one is Gerrard, the other is Glen Johnson who is a bigger culprit for it IMO because he's supposed to be a defender!!!

I refer to simple stance; we only want players that want to play for the Liverbird. To me, Glen has not wanted to do that for two years. Sure, we got the odd flash in the pan where he pulls out a performance, but since when as LFC accepted that? I'd rather he went. As others have said, he sat collecting his £100k per week. Let some other gullible ****ers contribute to his retirement fund instead.

I don't really care who plays instead ATM, Glen doesn't deserve to be starting.

He has been appalling this season. And he's been lucky that we've had problems in almost all other areas of the pitch over the years so that we've not had the funds/time to replace him. Now that the rest of the players are playing at a high level he isn't playing at an acceptable level.

For me the main requirements for a full back in the PL is good positioning, stamina & 1v1 defending. Johnson is not doing well with any of those requirements at the moment.

Where was his passion? looks like he's in it just for the money now , therefore he needs to be got rid of.

    I wouldn't be so generous.

In my opinion, when he's good, he's half decent (never brilliant), when he's not good he's utter ****.

    Sm1thy, **** off

think we should sell while he has value, same as Skrtel to be honest.

may take a while to get a settled back 4, but at least they will be younger and hungrier than what we are currently seeing.

Johnson did have some supporters earlier in the season but I dare say they have changed their minds. If there is a replacement available then we need to get him in asap and we if we can get some money for Johnson then all the better.

If we get Bertrand then play Flanno at RB it solves the problem but both are young which is a slight worry.
