Lennon gets a standing ovation as he's replaced by Lamela. Very good performance and it'd be nice if our Argentinian could put in a good display in the remaining minutes. Nearly scores straight away and probably should have.
Lennon had no place in AVB's set-up, he simply did not work. In Sherwood's set-up, he's beginning to look like the fantastic player that almost single-handed tore the Chavs a new arsehole and won us the Milk Cup, not so long ago.
All in all a great performance especially from Adebayor. I just hope Sherwood recalls Benny for the Man U match. Fryers has done ok today but away at Man U is completely different.
Chadli on for Adebayor. Another player who's had a good game. Really put in a shift, held the ball up well and lead the line well. Be interesting to see how we set up now. I'd like to see Chadli go up front, but we'll see.
With Chadli on, are we going to see Lamela push forward up alongside Soldado? Could be an interesting move by Sherwood if he wants to have a look at it.
Why would we want a Championship player in the squad? Sorry, but I think we've moved on, now. Whatever act of childish lack of discipline it was that got "disco" Benny's ass kicked out of the squad, I don't want him back in so he can cause yet more disruption. Surely, if we are going to pick up a head of steam it'll be because we were brave enough to let players like Benny go?
Silly booking for Lamela. Looked good other than that and it's nice to see him grafting, but that's poor.
Are you serious HIAG?benny isn't a championship player he just happens to be playing there as our old manager cast him aside.was it right that Adebayor had to train with the reserves? How come he gets a second chance but Benny can't?
Still the slow/sloppy/sideways stuff even when 3-0 up. The coaches will have to work hard to purge that.
Could have been far, far more for us. Some lovely interplay, Ade seems to be the catalyst for a lot of the good stuff. Paulinho had some outstanding touches before he got injured, he walked off though didn't he, so he should hopefully be ok? Still can't bloody shoot though… If we can play with the same tempo and skill consistently then I think we have far more to come. If Soldado and Ade had their shooting boots on we could be looking at a hatful of goals.
Also some consideration for Stoke. Mark Hughes not once considered their time-honoured hoofery, even though Spurs would have been well susceptible to it.
Good team performance today, that'll boost morale. Lets carry this onto the Man U game, while not performing well they're picking up the wins. Hopefully we can take a massive 3 points on NYD. COYS
United will be the test for Sherwood. He came up light against WBA, but then pulverized Stoke (who, to be fair, we have struggled against, in the past). I won't blame him for the fiasco against WHU, as he had only just taken over. So, it's been a bit of a mixed bag for me, at the moment. Let's see how he sets the team up against a weakened United. If he gets a result against United, I might be willing to cut him some slack. Then again, I do prefer his style of play to that of AVB. It's more in the Spurs tradition.
