I am sorry Boris. It was only a joke. I assume this touchiness is prompted by a realisation.you've underrated Hurricane Fly and overrated The New One.
Does this win warrant the FLY some respect now?!! I can only imagine the excuses from some SHOULD he beat 'the Hyped One' in March Surely though you can't use the old 'he doesn't beat much' argument this time lads
The Fly's time was 12.4 secs faster than the Novice Handicap Hurdle an hour earlier. Presumably it should be to represent decent Champion Hurdle form?
What on earth happened to the Mullins horses at Leopardstown in the 2.35! 14/1 and 33/1 first two home! I'd say the stable is under a cloud if Hurricane Fly didn't win.
No worries champ, no today has only made me more confident about The New One, and ive never underrated Hurricane Fly, not since he beat Go Native 10 lengths in a novice hurdle. Ive backed him for both his Champion Hurdle wins so I certainly dont underrate him, just think he is up against it this year.
Morning Assembly should mop this grade one up but doesn't it look weak? Disappointing with a capital D
I have a feeling Bob's Worth and Hurricane Fly will win at the Festival, especially Bob's Worth as he excels at Cheltenham. There's no doubt Hurricane will face the most competitive field he's ever faced in the Champion.
Iron butterfly landed at 7s took 8s small profit for the day after the first 3 I had lost intrest aswell hope all have came out ontop today
Just done my ante post bet . Forgot to put it on last night so missed Hurricane Fly at 6/1 Doh Hurricane Fly - Bobs Worth - Sprinter Sacre - Big Bucks Nrnb
All four have outstanding chances of winning (of course Sprinter Sacre has the best chance) but how will Daryl Jacob fare partnering Big Bucks in the World Hurdle? Ruby Walsh knows the horse better than any other jockey but hopefully Big Bucks will return to somewhere near his best. If Sprinter Sacre did end up missing the Festival, would Kid Cassidy take his place in the Champion Chase? After all, he did beat Sire De Grugy last month.
I think SDG would easily beat him if they were to run again at level weights, however im pretty sure Gary Moore has already stated that Cheltenham isnt on SDG's schedule as he believe he doesnt like the track and will be heading to Aintree instead. If that was the case then theres a good few useful Irish contenders - Benefficent, Arvika, Sizing Eurpe, Hidden Cyclone who would be up to the task
Do we seriously think Sprinter will BE at Cheltenham? It sounded pretty serious, and they are comparing it to Denman's illness, and although Denny ran again afterwards, he never again scaled the heights .......
The worry is that there was no sign of any problem until in the race. Therefore, unless they have identified the underlying cause, there must remain a fear that any over-exertion could bring it on at any time. I hope he will be OK but will be worried every time he runs from now on.
