Its not an anti Semitic gesture apparently, its an anti Zionist one. Two massively different things. It would be like banning a player over an anti EDL gesture as being racist.
Yeah right Flyer.....Thats why it's done outside Synagogues, Jewish Schools and even Auschwitz..........I'm sure the people doing it really know the difference between anti-semitism and anti-Zionism. Whatever the perceived difference...I'd still be there in protest.
of course. sorry, was being facetious but I don't like when this stuff detracts from what I'd consider genuine racism.
Except it was in support of his mate who does anti zionist stuff in his act. Theres a massive difference between the two, are anti EDL protestors anti white? Its ok to be anti zionist, its not ok to be an anti semite, its ok to be anti EDL, its not ok to be anti white. See what Im getting at?
Anelka has stated he made the gesture in support of friend. That may well be the case, but the wider implications of the gesture, and particularly the places where it has been performed in front of, mean that it is undoubtedly anti-semitic and should be punished accordingly.
So are you seriously saying that the guy Dieudonne Mbala is only an anti Zionist ?? The same fella who has been convicted 7 times in France for ANTISEMETIC remarks ?? The same guy who described Holocaust remembrance as 'memorial pornography'. The guy, in my opinion and it seems of many others, is anti-jewish...... I'll give you another anology....Is it ok for EDL supporters to chant 'Allah is a Peado'.... 'cos they say are purely anti-Jihadist not anti-muslim ??
To be honest Watford, IMO, we have to make a stand someowhere. People did nothing when the Nazi's started out making wicked cartoon characters of Jews before the war..and we all know what happened there. We let people like Anelka get away with this now..who knows whats around the corner. What today is a harmless gesture of 'Anti-Zionist' solidarity for a mate.....could tommorow become something a lot lot worse. I'm not Jewish but something i feel pretty stongly about.
Staines, you're probably overreacting a bit but I understand your sentiments. Wats seems to have it right - even though he's got the hump with me now. Anelka is most probably a Muslim extremist. Its not to be unexpected from his type. Although its an entirely different issue, remember Taarabt's goal "celebration" at our place? Some of these halfwits, including some Christians, find it practically impossible to keep their zany beliefs to themselves. Its in their DNA really.
Yes mate, you are certainly right and might very well be an over reaction on my part. But my history makes me like this and i can't help my self......Bit like how an ex smoker quite often becomes a rabid anti smoker .
You sure its allah? They are factually correct if they chant mohammed as apparently he had an 8yo "wife". All Im saying is Anelka isnt a racist/ anti semite. Hes an idiot and politics have no place in football. Im sure he will get a ban or fine.
Definately sure mate...Unless those pesky muslims are dressing up as fat, white skinheads and pretending to be EDL supporters . (I'm sure you can find the footage on you-tube somewhere as i really aint got the time today)
I meant are they chanting Mohammed is a Pedro instead of Allah? The former would make sense, the latter doesn't. It wouldn't surprise me if they don't know the difference.
So what they're chanting actually is "God is a peado". They're not the brightest are they Stainsey boy?!!
No, it's definitely refers to Mohammed; he consummated his marriage to Aisha when she was either 8 or 10. And although we cannot necessarily apply 21st century standards to the seventh century, it's pretty awful.
