    I can defend this.....

In the same way if someone asked me to build a bridge, I couldn't, as I'm not, and never will be, a bridgebuilder, Jozy is not, and never will be, a striker.

    High 5.

Thank **** for that, I thought it was just me who thought he should sell his boots, the useless twat couldn't kick the skin off a rice pudding.

And please, no body come on with that old 'well, he didn't get good service' ****e excuse. I've just watched it for the second painful time and every ball to his feet, he either went to ground looking for a free kick or failed to control it an d gave the ball away.

I said on another thread that I thought he would be able to form a partnership with Fletcher, I now want to retract that stupid statement, he should just retire and donate all his kit to charity.

Mmm...just not sure that we should be so quick to judge - the premiership is an incredibly hard league to adjust to, it took Giroud at Arsenal a whole 12 months before he started to really click. Add to that the fact that Altidore has been made to cope with two managers asking him to play various systems all with different midfield players, most of whom haven't exactly been in form either and I think he needs longer before we judge him.

He has scored many international goals for a decent USA team, so the basic talent and speed must be there. 16 or 17 games is nothing in this league, give the lad a chance.

High 5 back. My sentiments too. that doesn't cover up for the fact he should have scored yesterday, but there's a few players we could say that about in recent weeks.

it doesn't make him ****e. lacking in confidence, yes. Gus and Co. need to do something about that.

Dreadful performance. Excellent comeback. Let's just take the point away from home and never discuss this game again.

Agree 100% about Altidore though. He could cost us put EPL status unless we buy a new striker. He simply can't and won't get goals at this level.

I have to admit I was happy when you paid £7m for him. My only doubt was.....what if he has improved since his days with us. A nice guy, but sadly not premier league level.

No, give DG to Hull on the proviso that they have to take Altidore as well

I still think there is a player inside Alti trying to get out. His main problem to me is confidence and a little luck wouldn't go a miss.
That said we can't afford to be carrying any bugger at the moment. Altidore's performance yesterday (as with many of his games thus far) was woeful, he has to be dropped.
Got to say Diakite made Altidore look half decent.

its frustrating -I reckon he's a good player he plays well for the U.S. - a lot of the problem for him is confidence imho and lack of service, he works hard off the ball maybe we should loan him out to the MLS in January (get a loan striker in) get him scoring goals again he'll need that for the World Cup he's definitely a player for our future

Was really poor yesterday but ffs give the lad some time and support. If we spent £6m on him there has to be a player in there.

He needs to get his head down and prove that he can play in the prem. Someone also needs to teach him how to use his strength properly and how to take a good first touch, there were times when he was able to bring the ball down and hold it up
