Me and the Missus have just come back from a weekend in London, we went up to see my grandson (and his parents ) So anyway on Saturday evening we are looking at going out for a nosebag, this means we have to find a restaurant/gastropub that was child friendly, my son told me that there was one in the High Rd that was supposed to be very good. We walked down to it and went in the back way through the beer garden, and settled down to eat, the beer was flat, horrible and expensive, we had to wait ages to get served and when the food eventually turned up as well as not being very good it was nearly cold. I was going to complain, but my Missus didn't want a fuss, as she said we wouldn't be going there again, my son said lets just drink up and call in another pub on the way back to his flat, no food, but a tidy beer garden. This place was, over hyped, over priced and the product wasn't any good, we left the pub by the front door, and I noticed the name of the place THE LIBERTY
Next time you head to London Proph just gimme a shout - I lived & worked in London & Kent for 23 years so can recommend some excellent places. I wouldn't take any liberties with you...
Proph. I too have been working in London for about 10 years and i know where you can get good food good beer and bed women all at reasonable prices. Women aside it might suprise some folks where you can eat and drink without getting ripped off. My local boozer is called the Prince of Wales and the beer is both good and resonable priced. A pint of John Smiths still under £3:00, you can get a 2 course indian meal with wine and coffee for about £40 only a stones throw from the Ivy club and Stringfellows and beer for anything about £2:50 in very friendly pubs in Kings Cross with a cracking Karaoke thrown in. Whilst I understand that a pub with a name like that would be second class don't let it put you off the real thing, any more than a true footie fan would not be put off by going to the council ground. KTF but if you need guidance you'll have to e-mail becuase I'll be gon in 12 days.
Now you understand why I moved back to Cardiff, and that's without the people. Eurgh the people down there are the worst. Give me Wok To Walk and Live Lounge anyday
Cheers Lads, I know a few tidy places, but my problem is, I have to try and remember what I was upto LAST time I was in them.....as this time I'm with the Missus .............. and they have to do food early Saturday evening and let little kids in.......and be within easy travelling distance of Fortis Green so it cuts down my choices a bit...........but I've managed to convince the Missus........if we keep trying different pubs, well we will find a good one eventually.....................this may take some time
How is this thread football related? The OP should be ashamed of himself as well as those gullible enough to respond to this silly article stuffed with rubbish. Talking about silly articles stuffed with rubbish - where is Aussie these days?...........
How is this thread football related? Sparky, its NOT football related it's about goings on at The Liberty
Prophet, I can give you the name of a great pub, only 20mins from the centre of London in Denham. Great food, great atmosphere. Its called The Swan, easy for the train to Wembley. Landlord said the only time the beer has been watered was when the cardiff fans were crying in their beer!
Well with swansea playing 5 fixtures in the London area his beer will be well watered down with jack tears before the seasons over
