    The time for them to 'play for Malky' was against Southampton when they laid down and died without a struggle.

    Team news from South Wales.
    Gus Poyet has made three changes to the side that defeated Everton on Boxing Day ahead of this evening&#8217;s game with Cardiff City.

    Jozy Altidore starts up front for the Black Cats with Steven Fletcher dropping to the bench. Emanuele Giaccherini has also been handed a start in place of Jack Colback, whilst Andrea Dossena comes in for Ondrej Celustka.

    Valentin Roberge and Modibo Diakite make up the Sunderland backline as John O&#8217;Shea misses out again due to injury and Wes Brown serves the second game of his three match ban.

    Only Dossena lacks heart in that starting line up ......... if Fletcher & AJ are out os sorts this isn't the game for them.

    We need 100% all out effort and I think Cattermole will be vital today.
