to be honest Norway, i can't see any new manager, however high profile, keeping Ashley at AV. He's desperate to go to Man U.

Not getting my hopes up till the deal is done H! although if DG and bucko go for circa 8m topped up with 800k from Villa! that would bring the debts down a touch and Give MM some money to play with!

Malky is the best thing that could have happened to watford, he, wioth a tiny budget has sighned DG and WB now two of the most seeked players in the champ and both of the transfers put together still dont make a million, whioch is a quarter of wat DG should go for. Best thing since Graham Taylor
    In Malky we Trust

I see under Premiership rules Hughes is "tied" for one month before he can apply or he or his agent can be approached - yeh right !!!

I was pleased to see Martin Jol get the Fulham job - I don't know why but there is something about that guy that I just like

To be honest, with Hughes you have to remember the law - there is a case for 'restraint of trade' - you cannot stop people from working. What Fulham may have done is accept his one months notice to the end of his annual rolling contract or something similar. If a company (club in this case) wish to stop a person from working elsewhere then they have to continue to pay them - quite regularly called 'gardening leave' by the media. A contract works both ways though so it seems clear that Hughes was not breaking his contract by resigning or Fulham would have taken legal action against him.

To be honest there does not seem to be a dispute - Fulham moved so quickly for Jol it makes you wonder if it was an "agreed" resignation that suited both parties

What is it with Martinez? Has he really impressed so much? I would not have thought a big club like Villa would be after him

It is also interesting that Swansea fans call him Judas - as he was on record that he would only leave Swansea if he was forced out - but then took a job at Wigan - for the challenge !! Bit of irony in there somewhere :)

Ha - did you see what GT said about McLeish switching from Birmingham to Aston Villa - could end up less popular than Judas - at least it is only one set of fans who dislike BR :)

No - I checked on that before 606 ended when writing the article about him - and the Reading fans mostly like him still
