Just for you DAYO who asks every week, Pricewise picks: 1:45 Newbury: Kaki De La Pree 2:35 Chepstow: Tidal Bay 2:55 Leopardstown: Unioniste; 2:35 Chepstow: Goonyella 2:35 Chepstow: Amigo Two picks for me in the national tomorrow; Goonyella- 8/1- Shaped up out in a very competitive handicap in ground similar to this in april and has looked to be improving with each run. Tour Des Champs- 16/1 e/w- Ran well when finishing 4th in the scottish GN and stayed on well when sixth at cheltenham and seemed as if this type of trip will suit him to a tee especially this low in the weights
I missed his 2 winners yesterday although smallish prices for him - his website is ****e at the minute for updating - thanks again mate.
He is good enough to win a race like that, but its so trappy that anything could win. Not sure he will relish the ground either. One that will relish the ground (finally) is Wyck Hill in the Welsh National and he is a standout bet for me at 25/1
I will be in Leopardstown on my annual pilgrimage for the Lexus Chase tomorrow and look forward to seeing GC winner Bobs Worth hopefully put in a better performance than last time. It will also be interesting to see if SDC's hefty fall LTO has left it's mark or if Willie has worked the oracle on him, it look's a decent contest and I can't wait to see it. I am undecided on a bet in the Lexus but fancy Miss Xian 11/1 in the 12:50 to gain back to back successes after her cheeky win lto, she has a 10lb rise to deal with but the manner of her victory and the fact the front two pulled so far clear suggest she could well have the improvement in her to win this.
Cheers Nass might have a small each way at 6/1 Few others I like look of 12.30 - Chepstow - Caesear Milan 2.55 - Leopardstown - Bobs Worth Welsh National - Goonyella and Well Refreshed best of luck every1
An excellent Lexus to get stuck into: With Mullins seemingly having a few problems with vastly under performing charges and a bad bad bad fall LTO to overcome I am happy to look away from SDC. I also think he's been impacted by the ferocity of last years Cheltenham Gold Cup. I'm putting Bob's Worth in that same boat and won't back either at short prices. The three I'm interested in are Lord Windermere, Rubi Ball and my selection, First Lieutenant. I can't back anything from the Mullins yard until I see improving fortunes so Ruby's mount is dismissed. Lord Windermere won a poor RSA last year and ran below trainer expectations on reappearance. 10/1 is 6 points too short. FL has been aimed at this race all season and I think he's got a great chance at 6/1 in a race that has so many negatives about the top of the field. Interesting race. FL ew at 6/1 for me. Having said that if I wake up and it's heavy going I'm not bothering with a bet as FL won't act on it.
Morning all.....off to Chepstow today for the Welsh national. Cant wait...Any tips anyone? Not really looked at the card but i do fancy Teaforthree and Wyck Hill. Have done both each way before i get to the track....Teaforthree my fave horse in training....anyone think its weird Curtis's apprentice rides him???
If I'm right, it's Tidal Bay's final race in the Welsh National. Had a saver on him as he's clearly the best horse in the race. Goonyella is another horse I'm backing. Who's an outsider worth backing? As Tidal Bay and Goonyella are priced at 10/1 or less. As for The Morning Line, Rebecca Curtis sure was a guest worth waking up to!
I really like T43 too Captain but I'm not sure today is his day and the lovely Rebecca hardly talked up his chances on TV this morning. If you do fancy him I wouldn't be put of by having the claimer in the saddle as he's done pretty well for her. Not a tip but I recall the same trainer highlighting Minella On Line (12.30) as one of hers to follow for the season a while back. First time over hurdles today having had a couple of decent runs in bumpers. 9/1 available. Have a great day.
Just looking back through Tidal Bay's form and remember him winning the Bet365 (old Whitbread) Gold Cup at Sandown on ground described as soft but it was atrocious that day, an absolute slog through the mud. He lumped 11-12 round that day off a handicap mark of 154 and goes off 163 today, having won that thrilling Lexus in the interim. Darryl Jacob rides him today for the first time since that Sandown victory, where he rode a really canny race, holding him together until after the last and then fairly flying up the hill to win by 15 lengths from Roalco De Farges. Could it be a fairytale end to Tidal Bay's magnificent career today? Much as I hate to burden him with my money, I think a sneaky e/w dabble is required.
Morning 6 for me today Galician be perfect nap Well refreshed abruzzi Auberge pistol basc good luck all
One super size bet today is AALIM 12.55 Catterick. A short price but I think a nice chance to double my money. Beaten FTO by Handiwork who won again yesterday against another Ferguson horse in Royal Skies to boost his chances. Trainer and jockey won this race last year, so for me this will win and at Stanjames 11/8 I'm on.
