Does midnight mass actually take place anywhere at midnight now ... just can't get the staff nowadays?
Midnight mass in the old days with the 24 hour fast in place was like a hospital A&E area. People fainting all over the place. It was exactly at midnight in those days.
Midnight mass in St Peters, in the Vatican, is an all-ticket affair - they're free but like everything else these days, where there is opportunity for easy money, some are sold on for ridiculous prices ... the basilica can just about accommodate around ten thousand people so a tidy sum can be made from El Papa fans.
My church is being underpinned so they've sealed some of it off meaning 100 les places. My niece said it was murder in there for midnight mass - bad enough at 10AM on Wednesday. It's a bit like football really - attendances drop by about 25% when it's just your normal run of the mill affair...........
Green Brigade show up every ****ing Sunday then get banned for the big wan. The Parish Priest will have them back when the big glamour masses stop.
