That's a good read and I agree with all of it. Rodgers is no fool and he surely knew he would get banned by saying what he said. He was sticking up for his players and I think the players will admire him for that.

Agree and also think it was to help keep the confidence high possibly too? If he came out and said something along the lines of " We gave it everything but just didn't come away with it, etc" and only that that maybe the players would be deflated? Was certainly for protection for the players though.

Got to say that when I saw the interview with Brendan I was thinking it was an eerily similar response to something that He Who Shall Not Be Named would've said. I liked it.

Ferguson learned a lot of that from Jock Stein, who after several punishments from the SFA over comments about officials, said after one OF game officiated by David Syme Junior..........'your father would be proud of you'.

The SFA could do SFA. Quite Clever. Needless to say Jock did not mean it as a compliment and the authorities knew it.

Perhaps BR needs to take a leaf out of the book of JS and his great friend Shanks and make sure that the comment gets the meaning across, but SFA the FA can do about it.

More managers need to speak out. If technology is available, why not use it instantly and clear up the issue instantly. A lot fairer.

Interesting how different people react and respond.

I would imagine Shanks would have spoken out, but would Paisley? Not that he wasn't as determined, but all about temperament.

I'm just worried the referees won't take too kindly to a young upstart criticising their old boys club.

It can lead to some contentious decisions in the upcoming weeks.

    Definitely this ^

He spoke like a petulant child looking to blame the referee for an error made by the Lino & then having the temerity to imply that it was some form of inherent bias & that Mason was bent due to his Manchester roots

He fully deserves the ban that he'll get

He had a bit of a moan and that's it, there are worse things that go on in footy.

oh **** off you bitter twat!

he was correct in what he ruddy said, you know it and i ruddy know it.

why is every comment you make about us ****ing negative tobes? would you be saying the same bollocks if Martinez said that, or would it suddenly become he is right blah blah crap.

you seem a very intelligent person when NOT discussing Liverpool, yet when you do its bollocks like the above.

we got shafted and every ****er knows it.

He didn't just 'have a bit of a moan', he implied that the referee was bent, due to where he was from

    Which is correct <ok>

Everyone in Manchester is bent, in one form or another.

He wasn't correct though, that's the point soft arse

The fact that the offside decision was wrong doesn't excuse him implying that the ref was bent

The Suarez dive was a joke btw, sure he was having his shirt pulled but it didn't cause the swan dive that he performed. Skirtel was wrestling at every City corner & if you're claiming a penalty for the Suarez one then you've conceded half a dozen at the other end during that game ffs.

    It wasn't a 'Swan dive' <doh>

He had his arms in the air claiming a penalty as he went down. Huge difference.

Maybe watch it again and you'll see exactly what I mean <ok>

thank you for just proving my point lol.

i find it funny that everyone says it was a foul and should have been a pen, but refs don't give them.

too much grey area in football, automatic foul anywhere else on the pitch.

Oh behave, he wa having his shirt pulled & threw himself to the deck already claiming the pen before he hit the deck, it was a dive ffs

Refs need to stamp out the holding at corners, Skirtel was fouling Kompany when he scored maybe if he'd have concentrated on the ball he might have stopped it.

Great game btw, I really enjoyed it. I couldn't be arsed going to Goodsion (I now blame myself for the defeat lol)
Best 2 sides in the division at present IMO.
