Can't say I feel sorry for him at all. In fact he will do very nicely out of it financially and go on to get another job fairly soon I would guess. I wonder what percentage of managers who get their club promoted to the Premiership get sacked the next year.
With Tan holding the purse strings, it wouldn't surprise me to hear that Malky is struggling to get paid. But you're right, I can't see him being unemployed for long - wonder if Millwall would tempt him?
I suspect he knew that there was no way out for him except to wait for the pay off after he gave his carefully worded approval to the fans protesting about Tan.

Keep your eyes on developments at Norwich now, Malky would breeze through the door there if a vacancy came up asap and to a lesser degree he would have a very good shout at West Ham as both clubs still hold him in high esteem.
We hold him in high esteem as a former player, but as a manager his style is that of a poorer version of what we already have! We all love Malky for what he gave us as a player, but most of us wouldn't want him as manager!

All this seemed to start from the contents of a leaked e-mail. Malky was disappointed with the contents, and that it was leaked. Tan has said he's not happy with the dirty laundry being aired in public. Who actually leaked it? Is that Cardiff's equivalent of what was in the safe?

Now that Mackay has gone Hammam said it was important to appoint a new manager whose "feet are on the ground" and for Tan to have a bigger say in the running of the club. "The key here is one word - control," he said. "It is now high time that Vincent Tan takes full and complete control of all aspects of the club as and when he can." "The sacking of Malky was the right thing to do, the only problem is it should've been done a long time ago," said Hammam. Well as a life president he would have a view, but to suggest Tan takes full control is pushing it a bit far I think.
Well, Hammam was paid off 15m by Tan.... and we all know what an autocratic nutter he is too.... probably still in for a slice of the profits now....

Though to be fair if Tan did not have confidence that Malky could take them to the next step he did the right thing - he got rid of a manager who he thought was at his limit and would not waste funds on him. Time will tell whether Tan has a better understanding of British football. He seems to think Cardiff are capable of being right up the top. I think most of us would disagree - but he is no doubt comparing them to Swansea. I suspect Malky will have the last laugh and would not bet against him becoming manager of a team that finishes higher than Cardiff this season
I think it is much more personal than that. It seems that Tan was particularly upset about Malky spending more money than he was allocated. Tan took this as deliberate disobedience by an employee in a senior position. People like Tan cannot tolerate that sort of thing. I suspect there were probably other, less significant, actions that annoyed Tan. Malky probably ignored much of what Tan said because Tan does not understand the complexities of football. People like Tan expect staff to do what they are told. If they don't, they go.
