They threw in the towel against Chelsea before that game even kicked off. Going for the points at Villa. Not a sign of a team that wants to challenge and move up. Wee Joe Allen saw the writing on the wall.

Swansea have the added pressure of Europa, they actually seem to be doing ok in that, trouble is they want to hope it doesn't distract them from staying in the prem.

The potential is there, the same as Henderson. Both are playing very well and they are both young enough to get even better, especially under the system BR has introduced. BR is a fantastic man manager, just look at Sterling and Flanagan right now, he is brilliant with the young players and I expect each of the four mentioned to go from strength to strength. Well done Joe, you have a long way to go but you've at least put a seed of doubt in to the people who have written you off. <ok>

Today's game at Emirates was the first away game against an organized and nonadventurous defence that I feel we dominated. We still weren't very clear in our attacks, and left too much at the feet of Suarez and Sturridge, but if it wasn't for better finishing we'd have been very happy with today's performance.

Allen was key imo as he provided a balanced springboard from which to build our numerous attacks. We could have ended up producing little in the manner of our WBA and Fulham games had Rodgers used Hendo instead of Allen.

In games where more patience is required, esp away games, I'd go with Allen ahead of Henderson. He offers a greater tactical nous forward to Hendo.

Shouldn't he take some credit for the fact that we build more cohesive attacks than at Fulham or WBA?

Maybe he'd take some credit if he played for either of those teams, probably not though since they'd need Derek Acorah to tell if he was on the pitch.

I hope Joe Allen succeeds for you purely because he's Welsh and the more Welsh players playing regularly for top teams the better it will be for the national team.I'd love to see us playing in a major championship before I shuffle off this mortal coil

Wouldn't even bother fella. Joe Allen is officially the scape goat, even if he played better than Zidane he'd still be "only a short passer" despite that being untrue. It's kinda like Borini, everyone on here said he's not good enough but now he's playing ok for Sunderland and people would perhaps welcome him back to sit on our bench, how can people rate Borini and not Allen? <doh>

With that said, the lad is injury prone which will ultimately be his downfall, when he gets a run in the team he'll just get injured and ruin the run of form anyway.

  19. Allen played well yesterday but I felt we missed Hendo. Could we play both as well as SaSaS, Coutinho and Gerrard? Doubt it.

    PS...Cissokho is the scape goat!

Since Webb is an external source, we need a scapegoat from within the club to blame yesterdays result on.

Luckily, Allen was playing yesterday, so the loss to Arsenal is entirely the fault of Joe Allen.
