http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-boss-brendan-rodgers-fumes-2962562 This could mean a HUGE ban for Suarez this time.
To be fair, he didn't need to make the geographical comment. His comments on the offside were just though. It wasn't even close.
what they going to charge him for? stating facts? was a joke, and be intresting to see the fa response to the obvious ****e officiating we had to put up with. said on another thread that is pisses me off that players and managers get punished all the time, but the refs get **** all.
The most incompetent refereeing performance of the season so far. I did say once we got to the top of the table this sort of thing would start happening.... Oh well, I'm sure Lee Mason will be getting some nice holiday deals in Qatar this summer
He spoiled his case by introducing an element of pure speculation. His comment suggested that the referee was biased at the outset. Without that, he would have had lots of support.
Ach he''ll get a touchline ban and he''ll deserve it for the bias observation if nothing else. If he'd stuck to incompetent he'd have been telling the truth. (But still would have got a ban) Touchline bans for us are meaningless anyway. It's not like our squad is so huge that it's not obvious who replaces who during the match. Good to see a bit of bite from him though. Have the refs start to worry about his opinion like they used to worry about the old drunks.
I'd welcome them investigating the comments- publicly- and examine the reasons for him making them. It was a lousy performance by the officials and it needs highlighting. I'm sure he'll be punished for his comment about Mason being local, because that suggests that the ref was biased, but he was entirely correct otherwise. I've never been a believer in actual corruption of refs without serious evidence, a subjective view of a game often makes it seem unfair to your own side, but now and again poor performances make me wonder how they can be so bad. If it's not bias then they must be seriously inept, which is almost as worrying.
He's in trouble for suggesting the referee was biased because of where he come from but no way will he get a touchline ban, a fine is usually the result of this sort of thing.
. Maybe you're right G, suppose insinuating geographic bias is little different to suggesting bias against smaller teams in favour of the big clubs. Can't remember who did that last year?
FA need to be taken to task for appointing an official residing within such proximity to Manchester. Surely there are plenty of refs who live far enough away who could have officiated. It was asking for trouble if anything contentious happened. However, spare a thought for us in Scotland. Dallas head of refs in SFA caught circulating and distributing sectarian anti catholic emails. Other officials likewise. His son awarded rangers a contentious crucial penalty yesterday, which was criticised even on the rangers fan forums. The apple rarely falls far from the tree. Campbell Ogilvie President of the SFA still owes rangers £93,000. Yeah, he will be neutral in his decision making. He also presided over the setting up of offshore, proven tax evading trusts for Rangers players. He remains in post. Ref Dougie McDonald involved in anti celtic decisions, which he eventually got sacked for. anyone who knows the SFA and their history would realise just how bad things had to be for him to go. Wonder what Brendan would say if he were up here lol. On second thoughts with that first name he wouldn't be allowed entry to most stadiums. SFA would persistently ban him for being in possession of an Irish sounding name. Speaking with a welsh accent would not exonerate him.
Its the FA ruling as usual. You are allowed to talk about referees and their performance but you can't question their ability or honesty etc. In other words, BR could have said "it was clearly onside" and "the referee didn't have a greta game" but he can't claim either were on purpose. Its all bollox really
Disgusting officiating yesterday. That Lee Mason is a right lard arse to boot, think he'd shoved one too many pasty barms down his gullet pre-match and they proper went to his head. This is me first post by the way, so erm, greetings fellow reds!
For rule E3 (1) the standard penalties are: Accept charge: 1 match touchline ban and £8k Deny charge: 2 match touchline ban and £12k We can expect Brendan to get the standard x2 multiplier for punishments for LFC and have a 4 match ban then, which will probably be the Hull, Oldham, Stoke and Villa games, but then back for the Everton derby where we will no doubt see some appalling decisions against us
Sod off with your sectarian nastiness. We don't have it, need it or want it on this board. Mods can you delete his post in the best interests of the board please.
Erm, did I miss something here? The poster seems to be criticising sectarianism to me, not promoting it.
Sounds like you do have it. Simply making a comparison. Don't like it ignore it, unless of course you already have a vested interest. The comparison could also be drawn to Spain, where RM, the establishment team get strange 'honest mistakes' which seem to favour them. For reasons best known to themselves the FA made a choice, which beforehand could be seen to me fraught with problems. Many countries throughout Europe have establishment favoured clubs, for a variety of reasons. In the case of Scotland it is sectarianism, in England it is big money, witness the persistent favouring of MU for several decades now. Most Liverpudlians would recognise the favouring of establishment clubs, but it doesn't only happen in England, where believe it or not, it is quite mild. Spain, Scotland, Italy, Turkey are very, very much worse.
