The sad thing is that you would LOVE the Swans to get relegated - just so that you could say it.

I've sussed out Dai , he is a self proclaimed liverpool supporter and probably jumped on the band wagon following them in the 70's 80's when they were successful , all was going fine and dandy as long as they were doing well , a glimmer hope was always there during the dark days that club as big as they were that the good times would return .Along comes little Swansea doing well and like a lot of people took interest in the club when our star began to shine and all was good , trouble is things are not going to well atm and that we're not fashionable in some punters and so called supporters eyes , so like a petulant child when things are not right Dai decides that firstly he attacks the club namely the manager because he can't get his kicks from the reflected glory when the club is successful and then decides he's decided that after 54 years he's completed his time , Sorry for me to be the one to tell you but there isn't a time limit on how long you support a club ,I know people who've supported the club a lot longer and Rip to a few who could have only dreamt of seeing what the club has achieved.
You may be right ,you may be wrong that we'll go down but I tell you one thing I'll still be there supporting them , you've already admitted you won't be , does that make you the better person ?

Well you might exist in fantasy land, but like I said my HP Sauce was not off the Internet, matter of fact I could tell you a whole lot more, like who his partner in crime was, namely one Mr Lita!..................<ok>

Anyway on a lighter note, anyone know what car Laudrup Drives? and what the Registration is?

Can someone please cut and paste Dai's comments into a Word document then stuff them up his ass when the season ends please?

    Dragon/ Jacksparrow - I've found you a job. <laugh>

By the way - NOT ONE WORD about how well JDG played yesterday. We played noticeably better when he came on, tracked back and was putting his foot in. Probably our best player along with Williams.

    Give credit when it's due.

Well, KJ, all I will say is, it's about bloody time. Yes, he tracked back and did put his foot in more often but, as Alan Shearer recently said, "I'm reluctant to praise a player for working hard, that should be the norm". And he's right!

However, I will still praise de Guzman's effort but if he had produced that effort more times in more games, to go along with his undoubted talent, we would be many points better off in the table.

Mind you, what did you think of Oscar's defensive work? This is a superstar player who was bought for his creative skill, flair and ability. Yet, he really got stuck into us in a way I've been yearning for our midfield to do. If he's not too precious to roll his sleeves up, why can't our lot do it? And I'm not just talking about JdG.

...and the respective value of the players you are looking at is? Oscar has an engine on him and was subbed because he was buggered.

But I think Laudrup has spotted the lack of tracking back as have we all and has addressed that. It just struck me that JDG is a lot of people's favourite pantomime villain even when others have had a worse game yet he doesn't get a single word of praise when he's played well.

I call it Dai Syndrome. Yes, Dai, you have a syndrome named after you. <laugh>

A few points stood out to me yesterday:

    1. Tremmel's distribution is pretty poor. A number of goal kicks straight out of touch, a few kicks almost charged down and a suicidal intercepted pass almost resulting in a goal. A few nice saves, but the basics have to be done better.
    2. When we cross, we create chances. Goal against Everton - from a cross. Our best chance yesterday fell to Vasquez from a cross. We HAVE to cross the ball more. What's the point in creating overlaps and getting down into the opponent's final third if we're not even going to make them defend. Put it in there and see the luck turn our way. Bad/missed headers/punches, keepers dropping the ball, keepers punching their own defenders, defenders getting in the way of keepers, general panic in the penalty area. These only come from putting the ball in the box! Make the opposition defend. They love us passing it around 30 yards from goal while they have a breather. It's not about 'doing a Stoke'. We do our passing to get to the final third, then we have to make things happen. Currently, passing it on the edge of the box until we lose it is not working. Cross the ball. It can't be any less effective than what we're currently doing (granted that it won't necessarily be more effective either).
    3. What has happened to Routledge? Apart from one instance of him taking on Ramires down the outside, he just couldn't beat a man, and quite often couldn't find a pass. It's worrying... and when we have Lamah showing glimpses of quality, it's getting to the point where Routledge is going to drop to 4th choice. Not good enough this season. BUT we know the guy's quality... he has to start showing it soon.
    4. We have missed Leon Britton. His ability to break up play was a joy to behold.
    5. When Pablo came on at half time, how come I forgot about him until he surfaced on 62 minutes? Why put on a player and not utilise him? There must have been a plan in place when we brought him on - but we hardly gave him the ball?? Might as well have made the sub at 60 minutes.
    5. Despite playing well for the last 10 minutes, we didn't threaten enough. With 3 minutes of stoppage time to go, passing it around our back 4 for two minutes isn't good enough. Currently, we don't move the ball quick enough and, as a result, we can't get forward quick enough. Something for the training ground maybe. We need to get that ball zipping around again. With our current game intensity and energy levels, we're effectively a poor man's Southampton. We need intensity, intensity, intensity. Win the 50/50s. Get to the ball first. Save the ball going out for a goal kick and put it out for a throw-in. Stick to your man. Don't let your runner get half a yard. Get the crowd involved. Give them something to cheer. Blowing out your arse at the end of the game? Good. Get in the gym, work on your fitness so that you're blowing less out of your arse next time. Right now, I can't help but feel a few of our players aren't playing for the shirt...and having just read the Swansea Supporters Trust book a couple of evenings ago, it annoys me to see where we've come from as a club, as fans, and then see players who haven't got their heads 100% screwed on.

As you can see, I'm clearly little passionate about this and reading my post back, I'm not convinced I make sense at all times. But I'll post it anyway because otherwise I just wasted my time! Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with our league position and our progression in Europe, but our game has been slow and ponderous in November and December, and surely that must have been noted by all of us?

    All very good points

Funnily enough when Tremmel was playing regularly last season I thought his distribution was more accurate than Vorms ,nearly always to the player targeted , this season like a feww other players he hasn't reached the same heights as last year.

Routledge as above , really thought he would kick on from last season , he made all the right noises regarding happy to be at the club etc but atm he's the shadow of a player we know he is

Leon , we'll always miss his endeavour and commitment , how many times can any one say he's never given 100% to the team.I can understand why Cans has to play and fair play he's improving every game but Leon gives that little bit more quality.

Moving the ball forward at pace is something we've forgotten how to do , and I believe thats an instruction , any one else notice we don't water the pitch any more at home .? ,just a thought.

Please pick the team for the Villa game Dai...and for MC for that matter. You are predicting a defeat against Villa so I'd be interested to see how YOU would rotate the squad for the next 2 games to get something out of them. Also, is there a particular way you'd have them play, or specific directions you'd give any players in particular. Given that ML has it all wrong in your book, I would like to see how you'd do it differently.

If Laudrup had benched him sooner, then maybe he would have started doing some work on the pitch earlier too!.................<ok>

Top post, kidder, things I've been banging on about for ages - particularly the intensity and energy. To be honest, as a team, that's all we lack (crossing needs improving but that's more an individual thing) but I wonder if the team has got into an energy saving mode because of the Europa?

It's bound to have a mental effect on the players especially the ones who know they are a pick for almost every game. It would be human nature for players to subconsciously save a little for the next game and it's probably a difficult mind set to discard at will.

It would be great if we beat Napoli and progressed but I have to say that I won't be disappointed if we bow out so that we can concentrate on the league.
