I watched t last week and i was a bit dissapointed but it was funny in parts Jono, hope you had good Chistmas mate.
Coogan is an idiot. He's an over-rated, one joke ***** that *****s find hilarious. The ****ing posters for that film are everywhere too
In what genre? I love loads of comedians, my favourite being Doug Stanhope in standup but when it comes to sitcoms i'm too lazy to type them all out. Finding Alan Patridge to be feeble doesn't make me a snob?
Alan Partidge was of it's time like Mrs Merton,Brass Eye,Shooting Stars etc i.e Coogan I like but never his later work and his revisits but Irish connections so back off. ps not to be pedantic but your spelling was wrong.
You can't even begin to compare Brass Eye to Partidge. One is funny and original and twatface Partridge is a one-joke *****. My spelling was off by one letter because i'm typing on my phone and had quite a considerable amoint to drink today. If you like Coogan because of his 'irish connections' that makes you an idiot. Blindly being patriotic is ****ed.
No probs. I'm surprised you say Partridge is "one joke" though. I thought the original series in particular had many classic lines. Also, as pud said earlier, The Trip was brilliant.
The trip was pretty funny although more to do with that Welsh fella than Coogan . I wouldn't say he is as bad as Toby seems to think but like Toby he can come across as an arrogant tosser . Unlike Toby much of Coogans arrogance is part of his act though . I like him , he makes me laugh occasionally . Coogan that is not Toby . Toby just makes me wonder
Just managed to see it just now well my thourghts on the film not funny even though the headline on box says it is got a good story mind u but crap acting from most of the cast especially the coppers!Im still not used to seing the star trek irish bloke as an actor after next generation!up the lepricorns!
Jono, you don't do irony much do you?.I think that "crapness" was intentional. The subtext was just how amateurish and wooden local radio is.I have freiends who don't like Father Ted but love Mrs Brown's boys,no accounting for taste.
