Mellor fee agreed also Barton to Stoke. To be honest not to bothered about either going, cash in on Barton and save shed loads on Mellors wages
Melor, we could end up stuck with him his contract runs until the end of the coming season. He might be content to stay at PNE just to pick up his outrageous £9000 per week for sitting on his arse...
I think it was only a matter of time maclad. Just hope we get the deal that we want from it. How times change. It wasn't too long ago in the distant past that we were taking good players from other clubs, and our so called "best" players were being chased by Premier League clubs
Hayes has been paid up and is leaving PNE. He is now a free agent. Interestingly although it would seem that Charlton are close to signing him there will be no transfer fee involved for a player we signed on a bosman. PNE and the player have come to some agreement on the two years remaining on his contract. Does this mean PNE have actually paid him to move on.????? It will of course save PNE £7000 per week (if rumours are to be believed) but surely some fee would have been expected by the supporters. The only thought that I have is that the player (like Mellor) refused the drop in wages a move to Charlton would incur and like Mellor be content to stay at Deepdale on his alleged £7000 per week. PNE have to get rid of their high earners and Hayes is one of them. Thoughts on this please.
If Mellor is on the reported £7,000 per week and we have to keep him, lets hope he can have a decent season and score the goals that help to win games. If he can chip in with the amount he scored last season for Wednesday and is helping to get the points that see us challenge for promotion at the first attempt, it will put bums on seats. A winning team at North End will always get extra support and 500-600 extra fans will make his stay cost effective. We've seen proof he can do it at this level, let's just hope that if we're having to keep him, that he comes up with the goods
I won't miss Chris too much, he's another perpetually injured player and only manages half a season. We need fighters and battlers with passion and staying power
We have also let Wayne Brown and Trotman disappear suspect with Trotman he will struggle to get a side unless he stops his party attitude, possibly he's the new Simon Whaley
C Brown did extremely well when he first arrived at Deepdale and played no small part in keeping us up that season. Unfortunately he has never made the same impact since that time, and has missed a lot of games through injury probably not being 100% match fit when picked again to play. Unless Maclad knows it to be a done thing then it might just be rumour at the moment, but no smoke without fire as they say. If true then finding a decent striker must be high on PB's list for new players.
Indeed Plumbs Just getting a bit restless myself. Players going and nobody coming in. I know the club needs to know for definite who will/ won't be here but it won't be long before it's just the dregs that are left over for us to pick at. I'm sure PB has plenty of irons in the fire but it's still worrying me!!!
Cheers maclad, you seem to get good reliable info Hayes officially a Charlton player now according to their fans on here
Another from Twitter St Ledger to Ipswich £1.75m Wouldn't worry about lack of signings suspect they are lined up but as contracts don't end until 30/6/2011 then we won't see much action
Doesn't look like Ellington is signing said it was good to work with Phil Brown and wished him all the best
Wednesday considering coming back in for Mellor. Heard that Weds are considering £9k per week, thats according to an Owls fan I know. I don't know how much truth there is in that though http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...mellor_s_pay_packet_stops_owls_move_1_3473858
