plus that ridiculous back pass in the second half - agreed he did some thumping tackles but he was totally at fault going walk about for the WBA equaliser as well - why Macca or Faye aren't playing is a mystery
Great City performance....shame the ref was ****....He totally bottled it.....Why no card for Young's studs up assault on McGregor. 1. Livermore 2. Bruce 3. Davies
It will be interesting to see motm. From my seat not sure how AB is responsible for 2 goals. Great ball into Rooneys chest lays it off to wel beck Davies nudges it back to Rooney. Ab had backed off Rooney scores a screamer. Smalling beats Davies, Davies' man for the first. Might be wrong tho. Sagbo is Bernard Mandy in disguise and I claim. My five pound. Sublime skill but then has no idea where he is wherethe goal is, nothing. Hudd. Just lacks that bit of nasty to make him great. Bruce. Two brilliant. Brutal tackles that I'd have paid money to see on their own. Elmo. Massive work rate, beat their best defender evra and wound moyes up too.
Yes, the reason being that he made more well-timed and crucial challenges than any other player. Some people are including Chester despite his hospital pass & OG, you shouldn't be immediately ruled out on the basis of a mistake/mistakes.
**** I'd forgotten that. Can you imagine that on De Gayer and the ref would have been besieged by Manchester larkers, pushing him from all angles, forcing him to retreat and get the card out for the challenge, SAF giving him and the linesman instructions in their earpieces from the directors box.....
First goal I thought should have been disallowed, or are you allowed to climb on the back of a defender now to get your header in?
Because against Liverpool Bruce stuck very tight to Suarez which limited his ability to do anything, today he did the opposite and it didn't work after five minutes and should have changed. The reason he had to make so many big tackles was that he was not tight to his man and gave them space to turn and run at him. Unfortunately people don't think about that and just see the big tackles, which shouldn't have been needed. Compared to Davies and Chester who do it the better way and have far better positional sense. I am not saying they where better than him today, but Steve won't be happy with his sons performance today i bet. I just don't get why no-one else sees it but me and Gooch, but hey you are all entitled to your opinions. Anyway my MOTM's. Huddlestone Livermore Sagbo
Not the fact that Chester had zero pressure and headed it in an area that was harder than clearing it?
Problem is dAvies is too much of a good guy. Had he fallen down like a pancake it would have been a foul
Did you go? The movement of Man U was fantastic Rooney was everywhere, their interchanging positions was excellent at times. The tackle everyone is talking about was against Cleverly in the middle of the park, which Cleverly never stopped screaming about after Bruce had already one one tackle. Davies was poor toady. He was ponderous and lacked confidence on the ball, Bruce went mental at him in the first half when Welbeck dispossessed him.
Bruce definitely got dominated by smalling for the first. I don't think smalling was his man but the ball was going straight for him and he should have had it. The second he was indecisive and hesitant. Twice he could have stopped or at least blocked the attack but poor positioning and hesitation gave them the chance to knock it between them and Rooney a mile of space to have the shot. Chezzy was by far the best of the centre halves today, and would have been by far the best player on the pitch but a couple of dodgy nervy moments after the OG took it off him.
1. Huddlestone 2. Bruce 3. Livermore I agree with a lot of the comments regarding Chester having a good game over-all but that is close to the worst defensive header I have ever seen. He did so well to get in front of Rooney, all he needed to do was head it back from whence it came. Instead he's turned his head in the manner of an attacking header and aimed it straight for goal!
Yeah I want to defend Chester and say it must have been difficult but the replays just seem like he could have cleared it for a corner without too much trouble.
I think he mistimed his header by a split second. You can see in the slow replays that he tried to head it for a corner, but it hit one of the 50p head's points.
