We played like a side missing their best 3 attacking players. Decent defensively, but nothing much going on in the final third. Vasquez is so out of his depth at this level we might as well play an extra midfielder instead.
Amat showed his class, Taylor looking more like the one we know and Williams was top draw! We really need to get something out of villa And scalp one of the big teams in Jan. Then I think we will have a good run of games starting at the end of Jan that will really show how good are. And only after Feb will i worry!
Because Vasquez has produced nothing the manager should take a punt with Donnelly, it is the logical thing to do because the worst that can happen is we get no goals and assist from the youngster which is the status quo with Spaniard being played. We will lose Donnelly at this rate, he must be very annoyed at being overlooked for someone who has contributed nothing.
I have said many times that Vasquez is not at this level, and again today he had a goal scoring opportunity, and simply past it to they're keeper!
I notice a lot of posters on this site are armchair supporters (and I use the term supporters lightly). What a negative bunch some of you are. Unbelievable really, you must be Cardiff fans in disguise. We lose to Chelsea 1-0 after what has been a difficult season fixture wise and on the injury front, and a small club like ours more than holding our own at the moment. We lie 11th in the premier league at the halfway point of the season and are in the last 32 of the Europa league. I for one are more than happy with the club and players. Get a grip lads.
I am half insulted I am not an armchair fan by choice. We have a baby on the way and are saving up for a deposit, but totally agree with your sentiment and some here are complaining about our prospect seem to think we are as bad as any team.
Look what happened last season, we got a return of one goal for not giving him his chance. Vasquez is a Shecter. Donnelly showed more promise in his few pre-season games than these two did in the entire time here. Our youngster was also lively in the Europa League qualifying.
I'm happy with the club and players we have, it's the performances on the pitch I have a problem with.
Not an armchair supporter - been there on wet Tuesdays in the old 4th Division in the late 1960s et seq - but also not complacent enough to think we are too good to go down. As a young fan told me recently "We have lost our mojo....."
Agree. Laudrup needs to wake up and get rid of this bum. He wouldn't score in the championship. We desperately need a new striker in January, and hopefully not a loan signing as Laudrup's loans up front have been diabolical. I'd be anchoring for a move away if I was Donnelly. Kid must be fuming at not getting a chance with Laudrup picking this clown before him.
Have you seen the teams below us? They are leaking goals left right and centre. Whilst some here see doom and gloom, I guarantee you there are fans of teams below us who would snap at the chance to replace their squads with our entire line up... barring Vasquez.
The writing is on the wall....As each game passes we are getting worst. No fight, No passion, Plenty of possession, No end results, tactics obviously wrong, and a clueless manager who left key players on the bench and one who he let go on loan who scored the winner away against a team that walked all over us in terms of skill and game plan ...Everton....we are just 4 points from relegation and a gap opening up above us. we were 1 point behind man utd a couple of games ago and now we are 11pts......yes fellow jacks the writing is well and firmly on the wall...
The bottom 3 at the start of today all won away from home. We are only 4 points above the relegation zone and our leading / best goal scorer is out for 6 weeks. After Saturday, we face City, United and Spurs in our next 3 PL games.
