Rodriguez, Lallana, and Lambert were unplayable in the first half, Rickie looked a different player from Sunday. Davis was fantastic too, and the defence was sound. Great to see Gazza playing with a bit of confidence. He just might become a good keeper in a couple of years.
Clean sheet without Lovren. Get rid of him! Yoshida steped in and played superbly. Our midfield trio was fantastic, Lambert improved on last preformances and Lallana keeps getting better. Jay Rod one goal shy of being the most prolific English scorer in the EPL.
Absolutely no chance! Not playing Lovren in this team when you have a chance is utter suicide. As has been said, Lukaku and Campbell are two very, very different kettles of fish. Yoshi did perfectly well, despite some questionable distribution at times, but if Lovren is available, of course he plays.
I don't think we should get too ahead of ourselves here, it was a decent performance against a woeful Cardiff in the first half. Rodriguez was absolutely clinical and Lallana was fantastic once again, but we did look a little vulnerable and were lucky that Cardiff couldn't take advantage. They were swinging all of their set pieces right under our crossbar as they knew that Gazzaniga was not confident enough to come off his line and at the beginning of the first half it looked like it may have paid off for them. I'm not completely convinced by Yoshida, he had some very good last ditch tackles today, but doesn't fill me with the confidence that either Lovren or Fonte do. Does anyone know if Schneiderlin is banned against Everton? I remember hearing some whispers that he was one yellow away from a ban?
