As mentioned if we're going to get another striker we need to improve our service and get more than one person in the box!
Austin needs a complimentary striker, someone to interplay with; but we also need someone who can also put the ball in the onion bag and take some pressure off Austin to always score (anyone in midfield like to step up PLEASE?!?). Defoe sounds a good option, just don't feel it will happen - and it's possibly a year too late. Nakhi Wells could be a gamble with the step up and the pressure as we close out the season. Jordan Rhodes is a good shout, but Blackburn are adamant he won't be allowed to leave - but he would be my choice; a handful, similar age to Charlie, needs/wants to prove himself at next level, proven goalscorer.
Whichever way you look at it, with another good striker in the fold we need someone from midfield who can feed these guys. Otherwise we will be wasting our money (and our opportunities to win games and get promotion - as many a wise man has said: football is a simple game).

With all that's gone on the last two years if the owners have learned anything the deal will already be done whoever it is

I thought Zamora was near a return.

What the hell is wrong with AJ now? The guy is a joke. Shame because we have looked a lot more dangerous when he has played.

Take a punt on Leon Clarke or Callum Wilson from Coventry - 15 and 14 goals respectively this year.

I'm certain that Leon Clarke was one of Neil Warnock's signings.

Wouldn't this be a case of history repeating.

NB - his discipline is suspect too, he fell out with Paulo Di Cannio - that speaks volumes for his attitude.

This is what I fear most and will be why we stay in the Championship. Managers consistently see another game plan to us.

A striker who not only can trap a football but who has also got a good first touch, sadly missing against Leicester.

Just an idea…. young enthusiastic striker - gives all for his club - runs for 95 mins - works hard - oh we sold him to forest...

PLEASE don't tell me you are referring to Mackie. F*** me, we are desperate. I couldn't fault the lads commitment and dedication but surely we are better than what he offers now ??

Don't know much about the lad Wells but willing to give him a punt 'cos he seems to know where the goal is and should (I hope) be a good partner for Charlie.
