what were your thoughts when Modric was on the left? I hated seeing him there. V little pace and I always found that it took something away from us centrally. IMO, Holtby and/or Eriksen in the same position would be a similar scenario.

Agreed. This is why I want to see Holtby behind him at some point. best of both worlds. Holtby's a battler, but is also very intelligent.

Mod was out on the left in the beginning, for me he was still lightweight, he also had an early leg break with us, so all those 3 things, new league, still young, and interrupted run of games made things look worse. I thought when used out there when it was necessary, he was better in his last couple of years with us. Not his ideal position, no pace as you say, but thats one player you didn't mind cutting inside looking for a throughball to play. I am agreeing I wouldn't want Eriksen out there either, he's having enough of a time settling into his familiar position, just nit picking on the Mod compare coz I'm bored for half hour!....waiting to go on the lash...why do women take so bloody long getting ready! We're away to watch the Boxing Day dip, a load of loons going for a swim in the harbour, loadsa women with sticky-out nips on show is the only reason I go!:D

I thought it worked pretty well and gave him time to adjust to the English pace, without having to deal with various twats kicking lumps out him every week.
Keane and Assou-Ekotto helped to deal with the lack of width and it allowed us to tighten up centrally when defending, when the 4-4-2 could've left us a bit open at times.

Don't get me wrong, Modric was at his best with us when played centrally alongside a tackler, but he took time to grow into that role.
Eriksen is a little different to him, anyway. I'm still not sure what his best role is.

Bit weak in CM. And Holtby is always a risk for early yellows.
Would like to see Chadli getting in more crosses today.

Really, really open midfield. I wonder if Capoue's being held in reserve because of our problems at centre-half?

well, i got my wish! CE and LH alongside one another. However, I didn't think we'd be quite so attacking!

It's the only way Sherwood will set us up in his bid to see us play "The Tottenham Way"

From my memories, "The Tottenham Way" works fine against teams lower down the league, but against the top sides quite often saw us lose.

Will be interested to see how he sets us up against Man Utd next week.

FFS, why doesn't Sherwood ever play Capoue?

Just noticed that Defoe's missing. There's the ongoing rumour about him heading to Canada, but a colleague of mine claimed that he was heading back to the Spammers.
    Where's our squad gone?

I sincerely hope holtby drops slightly deeper. Chiriches and Dawson were all over the place last week against saints.

Sandro was supposed to be fit for the Chritsmas period, but that turned out to be incorrect.
