A Merry Christmas to one and all. Currently watching the one year old Grandson ignoring all his presents and having great fun with the discarded wrapping paper and a couple of big present bags!...<laugh>

Merry Christmas Maple - how are you making out with our awful weather over the past few days, and of course, Rob Ford? My sister-in-law in Saint John, NB has been without power for the past 3 days and her family is joining us later today for Christmas dinner and some heat.

No, we're fine here, no power outages, just what seems like endless days of shovelling snow & chipping sheets of ice off the driveway, then the snow plough passes by on the street and pushes the heavy snow/ice mix back into your entrance again. Luckily I have an 18 yr old snowblower, that still runs okay, and a few kids to help out - still really hard work, which gives you a great appetite this time of year!

    Hi Kilburn

As a former resident of your province (Moncton) I understand the meaning of bad winter weather. As for the weather in this part of the country, I work in Toronto but live SW of it, in a city called, of all things, London.

This London has a reputation for heavier snow, and generally crummier winter weather than Toronto but this most recent storm that caused widespread power blackouts in Toronto was primarliy a rain event here. I dodged a bullet

And Mayor Ford, well he was elected by electonic ballots which took about 3 minutes to count and I've said that Toronto went from World Class to No Class in 3 minutes flat. I do however take little pleasure in his current tailspin - London, Ontario's mayor has also been indicted for allegedly getting caught with his hand in the till. I am proud that I voted for neither of those jokers
