I vote for Defoeâ¦. but he won;t come here of course. Would like to see Hitchcock given a run. Who is really likely to come here?
A big target man to win some headers and help out Austin.Adebayor would tear it up but,he's just scored two goals and is now Spuds main man. Dont laugh but I wouldnt say no to a Grant Holt type.
Difficult one. I think we missed an opportunity by not signing either Matty Fryatt or the Sunderland lad whose name escapes me, both of whom went to Wednesday. Perhaps we'll try to the striker who we were linked with who plays for Peterborough (?) or maybe Oldham (?) who we were linked with earlier in the season. Sorry, I can't remember his name either! Very vague, I know, but I can't see us getting Shane Long or any other PL striker who makes appearances for their club. Sounds odd, but I'm hoping a fully fit BZ might help Austin to get a few knock-downs etc! But that could be the Christmas cheer talking.
Connor Wickham - not sure based on his current goal scoring form if he'll return to Sunderland, if not, perhaps we could poach him on loan for the second half of the season?
I know the lad was quiet in the recent home match, but his record is good, he's another Charlie Austin type player with everything to prove and we could sell him a pathway to the Premiership. Step forward Jordan Rhodes. With him and Jane's great grandson upfront together, if we made it to the EPL we would have two equally hungry strikers keen to prove themselves at the highest level, ala Rickie Lambert.
A big strong lad who wins headers, holds the ball up well and lays it off equally well and who can score equally well with foot or head. Well, it is Christmas!
This is the other player whose name I couldn't remember. Must be worth making an approach. We need more young blood in the squad, particularly as a safe guard in case we don't get promotion.
Now that Sherwood has been given the Spuds job, Defoe might be thinking "another manager who sticks me on the bench". Hopefully he might want first team football for the rest of his career? Have a word, Mr Redknapp!
Anyone, so long as they have an eye for goal and get good service. You could have Rat Boy up front, but if the ball never gets to him then he is wasted.
