Whilst all are smiling at our league position, I think many including the press have over looked Brendan Rogers role in our transformation. He asked for a season to impart his idea's and then judge him..Well he's not doing badly now is he? He's re-introduced the pass and move, pressing game that was the hall mark of the great Liverpool side's of a bygone era, he's a fantastic man manager (look at the word in Flanagan's ear as he left the pitch against Cardiff), and is the first manager we've had in years who is liked by the press. He's also his own man, he has a clear idea of how he wants a team to play, and he's communicated that brilliantly so far. Did i expect us to be top at Christmas? NO But we are they deservedly the Hull away aside we have in the main performed week in week out. He's taken a team that let's be honest has been awful for the last three season's and through hard-work,believe and determination turned them in to a formidable unit capable of beating anyone on there day. The ambition was champions league football, and I think we will achieve that. And with Brendan at the helm I don't believe it'll be long before we see more silverware in the cabinet.
The press have been extremely kind to Moyes during his average start to his Utd managership yet Rodgers who had no top flight experience has transformed our team and our game and deserves more plaudits considering the likes of Moyes have been in the top flight for years. Cheers Brendan and Merry Christmas.
we were the drunk slapper who everyone laughed at at the party. then Brendan the virgin arrived and took us into the toilet for a fumble, inexperienced he of course came early. and we loved it.
This, so much. I find it so infuriating how obviously Manchester-centric the media is. The the positions were switched and a relatively inexperienced yet bold manager took United to the top after very little time the press would be hailing him as a messiah. Come on Brendan, you have a head that would be oddly suited to being carved into a stone sculpture, let's earn that sculpture!
Hi everyone - Cardiff City fan here. Looks like the old Liverpool of the 70's & 80's is back. I thought Arsenal would win it this year, but now I'm not so sure - the elephant in the room though is Chelsea, buoyed by the return of the one who musn't be named. BTW, your fans were very gracious toward Malky after the game the other day - a class act indeed. Good luck for the rest of the reason, not that you'll need it!
I was delighted when Gollam got the Manc job, average manager, team in decline, no money..And yes the press who still suck at the teat of old trafford will sugar coat this. I said at the start of the season Utd wouldn't make the top4 and people laughed..not so many laughing now.
Shankly left us some amazing memories with quotes to measure, looking forward to hearing some from Brendan. I did criticise him last season, but he looks like (so far) learnt how to deal with things a bit bitter. Happy Christmas kopites and happy Christmas LFC
He is doing a fantastic job, he has done away with the likes of cole, downing, Carroll etc earning a fortune and delivering nothing and bought in hungry young technically gifted players and ensured the players who were here are delivering their best. With the injuries we've had how could we possibly ask for anymore so far!? Have a great Christmas every one YNWA
aside from getting great results the football were playing right now is probably the best you can see anywhere in the world although city aren't far behind but I think the individual genius of Suarez just edges it in our favour.
