both of whom are arsenal's manager's choice. he bought all those carp players so... no excuse when all the experts write you off while joint top for christmas.... if you only get 4th again... will you celebrate like winning the league?

LFC will be lucky to get that much.

'really well'? Subjective.

'fair few goals'? Anyone could with Ozil, Cazorla, Wilshere and Ramsey behind them. In fact 7 prem goals with that supply is actually a bit subpar.

He's a striker that's fine for a prem club that isn't going to challenge for the trophies. But he's not a great striker. If he remains our first choice striker it will just reinforce the notion that we won't challenge for the major trophies and just continue to come 4th by being the best of the rest.

fair point, you not worried Wenger will come out with the usual bollocks of you have enough, and you dont capitalize on your situation and probably end up top 4 somewhere, rather than a good title shot with decent players brought in?

and yes i am hoping we do the same lol, fecking injuries we have, need all the players we can get, skating on thin ice at mo.

I think we'll come 3rd with Chelsea about 10 points ahead of us, and city another 10 or so further ahead of them. 3rd, 4th and 5th will all be tight between us, you and United. I can't see it staying tight at the top for too much longer.

Surely by now Chelsea have wised up and won't sell us Mata. Over the last few years they have given us £50m for a crocked Torres and swapped Sturridge for Meireles. More than makes up for Cole.

Erratic but not bad for a free!!!

http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1...eave-end-season-open-marseille-switch?cc=5739

Bafetimbi Gomis has told RMC he expects to leave Lyon when his contract expires at the end of the season and is not ruling out a move to Marseille.

Bafetimbi Gomis could remain in Ligue 1 when his Lyon contract expires.
Gomis, who signed for Lyon from Saint-Etienne in 2009, had been expected to leave during the summer, when he was forced to train on his own and play for the reserves, but prospective moves to Newcastle and Marseille failed to come to fruition.

In September, Gomis had indicated that he did not plan to sign a new deal as a result of his treatment and he has now confirmed he is planning to move on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

“I am beginning my fifth year at Lyon,” he was quoted as saying by RMC. “I think at the end of the season, it's time for me to go elsewhere and find out if the grass is greener.”

The player’s agent recently said the Premier League was Gomis’ preferred destination, but the France international is not ruling a move to Marseille.

“That is a club that has shown interest in me for a while,” the 28-year-old said. “I could have been in Marseille colours in the summer. That didn’t happen, but I don’t know what tomorrow may bring. I leave my future in the hands of God. He is always the one who has guided my decisions, and I’ve never been disappointed.

Who would people like us to sign and who do people think we'll sign this coming transfer window?

I'd like Salah and think he's a shoe in to join in January.

I'd love us too Singh Mata but that won't happen.

I also think M'vila could be a possibility, definitely someone we can do with.

"Brendan Rodgers will 'try' to improve his squad in January and the Sunday Mirror reports that the Liverpool manager's top target in the transfer window is Sevilla playmaker Ivan Rakitic. Basel attacking midfielder Mohamed Salah and Barcelona defender Martin Montoya have also been linked with moves to Anfield."

i don't watch much European football to comment on who we should target, like Mata but that wont happen sadly, apart from that know idea on players linked, as havent seen them play to my knowledge or they didn't make much impression if i had.

I've seen Salah play, but those other two players I haven't seen enough to comment on.

Would be over the moon if we got Mata but unfortunately that won't happen!

Rakitic would be pretty boss. Cracking technique - crosses, shooting, delivery. Bit more mobile than Stevie.

Rackitic would be a great signing if we got him for a decent price, he can play as an attacking or defensive midfielder and im sure his style would suit the prem.

19. I'd like to see a WG, DM & possibly a AM too but I doubt we'll see three arrive.

I'd be very happy with M'vila and Rakitic though

I hope the fact that Henderson/Allen/Lucas are playing very well as a 3 doesn't stop BR from strengthening that area of the pitch in the window.

Thing with Mata is he may want to move with it being a WC year and to have any chance of getting in the Spain starting 11 you need to be playing well every week. Would be a very good signing but think they'll be a queue of clubs lining up for him from abroad.

I know he get's mentioned every window but Banega would still be quality. Valencia are down in 11th so we'd be a massive step up plus they are still in massive financial debt so may have to sell some players to raise cash.
