Not very well so far I'm afraid mate. Well, at least not in my opinion anyway. He's very lightweight and struggles to impose himself on games. Not suited to this hatchet-man division. He'll probably make a player alright but unfortunately he ain't got it yet.
From what I've seen we are a better team with him than without, he is very comfortable on the ball, always tries to make himself available and moves it on swiftly. Yes, he can get bullied, but that generally happens when the rest of the team let him down by not moving into space to receive a pass.
He works hard, always tries to link play up. Final ball can be poor and he can be bullied by bigger guys. Learning process for him which Spurs will see the benefits from more so than we will.
0 goals 0 assists and looks like one of our youth players and nowhere near as good as walker and Townsend were for us. I don't think he's had a good game yet. We should send him back if possible and get someone else in as he is of no benefit to us.
To be honest our midfield is beginning to look too lightweight. Noticed Benayoun was easily 'eased' off the ball by Morgan on Saturday and Kranjcar seemed to want too much time on the ball as well. Carroll has not really got a grip of any game he's played in as yet and I really think Harry hasn't worked out our best formation yet...
I haven't been very impressed. I can't put my finger on what he is not doing right, but he is just not involved enough.
How many times has he started in a stable midfield this year? Harold has too much choice, doesn't seem to have a preferred midfield line up or style, which can't help TC or others settle. As for this 'lightweight' cliche, thats all it is, a cliche. He needs experience thats all, will end up as good as Ramsey looks at the moment, and everyone said he was crap 2 years ago. People forget that the only reason he is with us is that he isn't the finished article yet.
I think some of the criticism is a bit harsh. He looks lively and industrious and we knock the ball around with more urgency when he's in the side. He's getting better that's obvious but he'll need to have a few more tricks up his sleeve to make up for his lack of strength. I think he'll be very good but he ain't there yet. He is making progress though.
Some of what I've read in here is an absolute joke, particularly this about Benayoun and Wes Morgan. Have you seen the size of Morgan? Robspur, ignore what most are saying in here. Yes he is slight in build (which doesn't really matter), but he's been far from 'useless' or 'terrible'. Lad uses the ball well, which I'm sure you already know, and I applaud him for always trying to pass and keep the ball moving, no matter how hard the pass may be. Always wants the ball as well. As someone mentioned this is definitely a learning curve for Tom, and spurs will definitely see the benefit of his season with us.
Well I like him. Links the play well and if Redknapp is keen to play through midfield then Carroll is as good as anyone at that. Having no goals or assists is a shocking argument quite frankly when that's not his game. How many goals/assists does Xavi get every season?
He is doing better than some on here would have you believe. Not the finished article by a long way but can and will improve given time. As Roller said.....We are a better team with him.
Promising young player. Always looks to get on the ball and wants to play a passing game: 2nd half against Blackpool he looked quite assured. However, he's got a long way to go yet and probably won't be ready for the PL for at least another 2 seasons. He is slightly built, but this will change given time and effort.
Its better to think big and once in a while actually get your man than buy the Johnsons and Zamoras of the football world.
