When Gazza came in last season, no-one expected him to do well and he replaced a weak Davis, so he had no pressure. When Gazza came in this season, he had to replace an impressive Boruc when we were in the top 6. Cropper would replace a poor goalkeeper and he'll probably never play for us again so he should have some confidence.
I'm inclined to trust our staff regarding our young goalkeepers. If they think Gazza is better than Crooper, so be it. But I wonder how it is possible that someone is worse than Gazza and what's that person doing in the club? Any club, that is
What's he doing at the club? Well, he was free, is paid peanuts and filled a vacant spot in our U21 squad. He's certainly not here to challenge for a first team place.
Sadly not, it was a fixture I was looking out for when they were announced of course, but Sod's law it would be on when I'm home for xmas and not in Cardiff! I went the last time we played there though, in the championship season. We completely dominated the game and lost 2-1, so hoping we can avenge that result.
I was planning to go, as it's the closest away game for me. However, I am now spending Christmas in Cornwall, so can't do it. I will try and get to the Queen's Hotel in St. Ives for the Everton game, because that usually means we win.
Only time will tell, you have to reserve judgement until you see him perform, doesn't look too bad from the footage that I have seen, but it will be a while before he is going to step up I reckon. It would be great to buck the tend and an Academy GK makes it into the first team. Kelvin is near to fitness and will be assessed before the Cardiff game if tweets are to be believed.
Get there!!!!! Are you actually staying in St Ives. I have relations in Newlyn and Marazion and so I'm a little green that you are spending Christmas down there. Watch the winds though and drive safe!
Yeah obviously I hope he makes it too but nobody really knows how good he will get. Kelvin would be an improvement on Gazzaniga so hopefully you're right and he can play.
I'm staying at my daughter's in Truro, driving down tomorrow morning as I "have" to see Christmas in in my local. Should be quiet on the roads tomorrow anyway!
Betfair implied chances: 30% Cardiff win 41% Saints win 29% Draw I have to say that while I normally argue that Betfair's odds reflect the true odds of something happening, I think the market is very wrong on this one. I suspect that the money that has set the prices has assumed that we were beaten by a good Tottenham side rather than that the game was thrown away. If we were to name a team similar to that of Sunday I'd be very tempted by a bet on Cardiff at 5/2. They'll be wanting to do well for Malky and if we have the same defence (or even just Yosh for Jos) we'll be fighting all the way through. If Shaw's back, it's a totally different kettle of fish, of course. Vin
goto Carlos Ice Cream parlour to see if Wayne Shaw is available, the `6`2 mobile square` in goal has to stop more than Gazza?
