Every club has a turning-point in a season that gives them a huge lift in momentum,or sees them drop down into huge trouble. After our game at Everton on boxing-day,our next game is away to Cardiff,as you all know.I think that this game is our catalyst to change our season around.I am well aware of how well Cardiff have played at home this season, beating Man.City ,for example, but this game sees us playing a team that is in our half of the table, but is also having problems off-the field. This is the perfect time to play them!!Yes,they played well at Liverpool, but they still lost.I hope and pray that we win this game, and that the result turns out to be the positive turning-point of the season.

I'd have thought Newcastle would have been that one mate. Evidently not though.

An away win at Cardiff would give us the momentum we need and would build-up confidence for the Villa game.We will survive!!

The next game should be the turning point - we just have to stop living off crumbs of hope.

Knowing our lot they are likely to get a result at Everton, hoodoos were made to be broken.

No, the same players that got together & got Paolo Di Canio sacked are just not good enough. After they got their own way you would have thought they would have stepped up to the challenge, but, they can only manage that on the odd occasion, I'm starting to believe PDC was right about them!

Of course he was, that's blatantly obvious.

Bruce and MON brought in a bunch of lazy players looking for a social club not a football club.

Di Canio, with his drive & ambition, must have been shocked walking into that situation. Short knew the situation which was why he brought Di Canio in and let him loose.

Having said that, there are other teams as bad as us, down there, and the margin of safety/relegation will be minute.

It's up to us to keep scraping wind and draws wherever we can to make sure we're not bottom 3.

It's only 4 points and we have 7 games against teams who can be worse than us on their day, we can catch them up.

Or get goals out of Borini, Altidore, Johnson, Fletcher etc ............ there's no reason those players shouldn't be able to score against the likes of Villa, West Ham & Norwich.

We need to get more players higher up the pitch quickly and get behind defenses. Almost everything is played to strikers with their backs to goal which limits the chance of scoring.

If we're playing balls up to Altidore or Fltecher, with their backs to goal, we have to have players running past them.

There's enough goals in that team if the likes of Johnson & Giacherrini can provide decent service.

I said on another thread regarding Jozy in the team and the way we play, we're set up for the midfield to get the goals, Giacc and AJ should be making those runs like you say, we need and AM to offer those runs to and also spot the runs. AM and another deep lying forward would be my preference to a striker unless the striker we're looking at has pace. I'll have all three if possible and a fullback.
