I agree that Henderson has shown signs of potential. However, to talk him up as if he if we are losing some kind of midfield genius is, in my opinion, way off the mark. I really can't believe that Liverpool have paid 20 million for a player who struggled for much of last season to get a ball past the first defender from corner kicks, and think that the money we have received for him is way above his true market value.
DtAd, i revived a thread (which is on page 2 by now) from way back at the start of Feb, and then you were not a Henderson fan, rightly or wrongly i admire you stance and the way you have stuck to your guns...
Cest. I remember as Im sure you do, of sir John Halls statement `A TEAM OF THE GEORDIE NATION`well its not come about yet, nor do I imagine it will in my life time, still dreams can come true, even for black and whiters, personally, we got the ****ty end with the Hendo sale, IMO, should have held out for more, or kept him, and agree we could have a mini Man U accademy, who says we aint, but if we dont keep them we will never know, how has sir Alex won so much, because for more than a decade he kept his home grown, and that has done it for him, now he has to look outside the club, but we always have to look for the bargain, another superkev,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ah bollocks. Until the powers that be stop being small players , and take the bull by the horns I am destined for another 53 years of small town ambition, but with the same broken dream, year after year. and by then at least Sunderland will have a record of sorts, a 116 year old man, alive and still won nowt.
Right lads may I reverse this a bit? Just for the sake of argument say Henderson was born in Liverpool. And we saw him play for Liverpool over the last year, the way he played for us last season. Then you saw our club bid £20 million for him. Would you be happy? Honest answers now!.
Probs no, but we dont know the lads developement, Id rather have waited, but hypathetical now, but what I will say under different tuition which he will get at Liverpool he may, just may prove everyone wrong.
