With the more defensive Flamini - Arteta mid there would be less need for Ozil to track back... interesting how both those related things go into your negative bucket even if they negate a bit of each other. Ozil already played in today's game and tracked back as much as he would have tracked back wherever he played.

    say what ?

    this is hilarious .

Dont we need to win games ?

If its NIL NIL , at home and 80 mins you DONT make some subs to try to win the game ?

    Behave .!

fuck me it seems the negative attitude is starting with the fans now , what chance have we got .

    tell me piskie .

its a a simple question , are you happy with a point at home against a mediocre Chelsea side ?

coz that what im getting here .

If it was away i could buy what you are saying but ........

    <laugh>

well you watched the game as well as the rest of us . did you at any point think we were going to score.

if that set up , with those front men has not scored in 80 minutes , to play them for the next 10 is just STUPID

what was the point of even having subs on the bench ?

How do you think Pod will feel after watching Giroud fail for 90 minutes and still not get a chance.

Not really though because we're talking about the flanks. The reason for Walcott and Rosicky today was so that they could nulify the Chelsea fullbacks. Flamini - Arteta in the middle wouldn't offer any defensive cover for width and as I said, I think we'd lack a creative spark in the middle. I'd go with either Flamini - Ramsey or Arteta - Ramsey or Flamini/Arteta - Wilshere. I think we need a balance in the middle, not an out and out defensive pairing, unless we're trying to shut up shop later in the game.

With those two in CM the ball would just be going sideways all ****ing day and the game today would have even more boring. Ramsey was not great today, but he has been the best CM in the league this season, so starting him there was the obvious choice. If Arsene played him anywhere else, he would got even more stick.

As if to remind us what we desperate lack these days, Sky follow the match with a programme dedicated to Henry and his EPL goals!

Not exactly happy, but glad we didn't lose either. The point being made though was that you were trying to say we'd definitely had won if we'd made subs and I'm saying in hindsight it's easy to say that when you actually are just speculating. It was one of those games tonight where both teams didn't want to lose.

Ramsey has done much of the share of defensive work even when Ozil was played "kind of" on the wing. Flamini is actually a direct player despite not being that good offensively. It couldn't have been anymore "sideways" football even if we tried.

Wenger and his SUBS (lack of and lateness of ) are the biggest joke in football .

Did you at any point think Chelsea would have scored? Especially in the second half. You can play the hypothetical game but don't get your knickers in a twist if its applied the other way.

    glad we didnt lose ?

    Glad we didnt lose ?

    ?????????????????

at no point whatsoever did i say we would definitely have won with a substitute.

But not making one at 70/80 minutes speaks volumes about WENGERS ..mental strength and belief that he keeps chucking down OUR throats.

    Pathetic negativity .

I think you're mixing up your quotes, but I agree that Flamini is more direct. At the moment I'd pick him ahead of Arteta but I would pair him with Ramsey or Wilshere.

Flamini and Arteta played in CM against Man Utd, with Ramsey out wide and that was our worst performance of the season after the Villa game. Our sideways passing was a lot worse in that game. It has to be case of either Flamini or Arteta not both. I would probably give the edge to Flamini because he has more energy and is quicker on the ball compared to Arteta who slows us down too much these days.

Tbf we were using Ramsey and Jack as wingers but now we should have our natural wingers back (Pod and Theo)
IMO those 2 should be reserved for teams that dominate in attack (City, Bayern and the like) and only provided we have 2 natural wingers.

    is this a joke ?
I dont give a toss about Chelsea , they were there for the taking , weaker than they have been for seasons and we went out to draw .

before the game we are banging on about needing to get at them and come out all guns blazing , THEN 90 minutes later its " oh well at least we didnt lose , wenger played it tactical , give him credit for not even needing to make subs to win us a massive point at home " clap facking clap .

seems you want it both ways .

Before the game you expect great things.

After the game you excuse terrible tactical decisions and negativity with a wave of your hand .

Yep. There's nothing wrong with Arteta/Ramsey in the middle. It was just that both were pretty poor tonight.

If we play too defensively in the middle then we're just going to invite pressure and not create anything going forward.

So the rules are you get to make conclusions re: formations that work out of a single game, while others can't. Got it. This discussion is going nowhere.

On another note i correctly predicted that we'd be second (to Liverpool by GD <whistle>) by Christmas in the Pred. League. Let's hope I'm not right about our position by the end, but it looks like it if we don't get some more options in front of goal, from the inside or out.

Not really. Not seeing where you read that. Plenty of disappointing facts about our play today (which has been highlighted not that you'd acknowledge it was said) but at the end of the day a draw is decent
