Unprofessional? That's like calling a player unprofessional when the ref gives a decision the wrong way and they say. "Oh FFS" out loud. It happens. We sit in the stands, they are running around a pitch, in the heat of a game. I've played football and said things and I bet this happens all the time; it is just that someone has highlighted Rickie saying. I feel that this mole hill is becoming an Everest on here. It is a non-story. Someone show me a video of Rickie (or any player) sprinting 40 yards to the touchline to scream this at MP, then I'll give you unprofessional.
It's not about being bigger than the club, it's about Jos Hooiveld being rubbish at football. Which by the sounds of it is something the other players know.
It is unprofessional. Calling a teammate "terrible" can never be perceived as professional, and it's hardly going to inspire a better performance. And as others have said, Lambert wasn't exactly brilliant himself. It's not a massive issue but if he has a genuine concern he should maybe have a quiet word to the manager. I don't care if it happens in sunday league, these guys should really know better. Must have been a nice fillip to the spurs players to hear that. I'd like to know that too! Not that it really makes much difference.
Well, if it was before he was proved right, if it was after it was justified wasn't it? Either way it isn't good for morale, but things happen in the heat of the moment, I am sure they will make up and get over it.
A bit too critical IMO he is quite a good footballer, and a decent guy, just not cut out for the Premier.
I'm not sure anyone has perceived it as professional. No-one seems to be able to view the video, but regardless, I still bet this happens regularly in the professional game if a player is having a stinker. To me, it isn't about it being professional or not, that is taking a literal, black or white view. This is a non-story and I'm surprised that some people, not you PTF are seeming to make something from it. It really makes me think people haven't played competitive team sport if they don't think it's something of nothing.
No... genuine, see the Norwegian link provided and whack it into an online translator. I'm hardly hiding anything. The fact people think I'd do this as a wind up or to do-down Lambert is a bit odd.
It wasn't meant as a criticism........and the windup was a question if the statement was correct and you weren't pulling our legs. I didn't mean were you winding us up, but was someone else on a wind up.........
I am not horrified by it. Rickie is only human...when exasperated he speaks out loud. Probably embarrassed it was caught on film.
Did you see all of the defence berating Fox when the third goal went in. That wasn't nice either and it may suggest a bit of friction at the moment. However, one cannot say the defeat was solely one persons fault.
