Yup, our service was poor. If we don't get maximum points, we'll have to settle for 4th place again. I agree.. he has a mean left foot. If I was the opposition, 'Giroud' wouldn't strike fear in me at all.
Because Flamini is actually direct and makes darting runs. He's not going to consistently pass it sideways. Look at our midfield tonight... they were timid to go forward at times.
Against the current top 8, Arsenal has 2 wins, 2 losses, and the rest are draws. Newcastle coming soon.
After his horror show last weekend bringing him on would have been stupid. Especially seeing as Arteta was doing his job. Maybe for Ramsey. Hell really the only sub I'd have made was Santi for Rosicky.
Arsenal Rule #1 against teams that park the bus: Do not in any circumstances play Walcott! We have quite a bit of variety in our non-CF forwards, Wenger didn't improve our chances by making us 10vs11 right off the bat.
The way we start these big games is also very worrying. It's always cautious and sets the tone for our performance.
Giroud is another 'make do' player. I'm sick of settling for mediocrity in key positions. We've suffered enough, signing Ozil was a good start, now we need to put a top class striker up front to push on. Not to do so is inexcusable.
Wengers reason for no substitution....love the professor but that was a classic case of over analysis.
The Pod can score from MORE than one yard out , therefore he is automatically better than Le Grand Blousen femme .
Yeah, but if we played one of the those non-CF's on the wing, we would have been **** defending against the Chelsea counters. And Chelsea were set up to counter, Cazorla is awful at defending from the wings and so is Wilshere if he played. Walcott at least has the pace to get back and he did that a few times to stop Hazard. Only Rosicky has the energy to do that dual role properly.
Theo was poor today but he had some decent moments. Giroud too. Rosicky was average. Theirwork on tthe Chavski wingers was important today.
Exactly And that's why Wenger started Walcott and Rosicky on the flanks. Too easy to slag players off in hindsight, but you have to take into account the job they have to do for the whole game and that includes positioning and defending
Flamini with Arteta mid, and Ramsey in a more advanced position. Ramsey despite being poor today would still have done way more against teams that are set up like that. I've said it throughout even when Walcott got good stats last season, he continued to be effective in games he was always effective in (maybe more so) and continued to be anonymous against those he was always anonymous against. More teams are "playing" these days which will make him more useful to the team in more games, but in days such as these... Same old story.
Really dont know why guys on here are going ape.... Really what did we ecpect? I am happy we did not lose, how many times in the past have we outplayed Maureen and been undone by Drogba? I will rather play like today and not get beat.
If you all thought Giroud had a bad game imagine if your chelsea fans, Torres was totally invisible for the entire game... So i assume your all discounting Chelsea for the title right? Overall considering the way Chelsea set up, the penalty and red card that should of been and the fact we are still level with Liverpool only held off the top by GD having played the top 6 once, i'm not too unhappy. We've played Chelsea, Liverpool, City, Utd, Spurs and Everton once each and our record is W2 D2 L2 and we are still right in the mix. Now i think we can consider ourselves part of the title race.
