I lurk on all the boards so I see a lot of the wumming going on. However, don't get me wrong. I appreciate how hard you work to make those statements stick in people's minds. You own up to your mistakes, for the most part, which is part of your 'charm' I guess.
I'll add one award. Most Missed Thread : The January Transfer Window With us having completed our transfers for the next three years, we no longer have a need for a transfer window which means I can't Wum Roo about his Twitter sources! No more gossip about who we may buy. No more New Striker or Roo /SOS getting giddy over that player Eriksen (what happened to him?). AVB may have killed the enjoyment on the pitch but Baldini and Levy killed the fun from transfer gossip and overall the enjoyment of following Tottenham has been taken away from us, the fans!I
you honestly think we won't be signing anyone in Jan? come on, this is Tottenham we're talking about. I can't remember the transfer window where we didn't bring a player in! I'm actually surprised there isn't a transfer thread already. I've heard that Moorpheus likes to take charge of the transfer threads, so I'll be polite and let him post one over the coming days/weeks Nice Wum attempt there Bossy. ... However, i think you'll need a bit more practice if you're to take the crown from King HIAG
I literally thought the exact same thing. I was tempted to start one up but remembered how well Moorpheus done when he kept updating the thread with signings/ departures etc and so providing he's ok to do it, hopefully he can get one started when ready
I think we've finished pulling apart SOS's awards, how about others have their say Spurs poster of the year: PowerSpurs - because he argues against the received wisdom sometimes, but does so passionately and articulately Non-Spurs poster of the year: Luke. Keeps his Utd head on but is able to talk about Spurs in a sensible, non partisan way (seriously, it must have been a different Luke on 606???). Also think Bodanki is worth a mention here, the Chelsea PowerSpurs in that he will argue against conventional wisdom on Chelsea if he sees it that way Funniest poster of the year: Spurm - must be reponsible for about a litre of tea in my keyboard Most informative poster of the year: Should be the renamed the Spurcat award. Mention here for RDBD though, knows tons about about our club even beyond the first team and Tots - I now know more about Sutton than I thought possible. Your buddy of the year: Got to be HIAG. It is a friendship forged in battle. At times on the Chelsea board we were 2 against the masses (well the 5 Chelsea regulars anyway) who were taking such a beating at stages they had to call for Goon re-inforcements. Best partisan WUM of the year: Going with Notso. Love the way he bats away WUMs from other boards when they come on here Special thanks award: Everyone else . But must go to PNP, Spurf and YV who, as far as I can see, have not put a foot wrong in modding this baord (YVs prediction don't count). Also want to mention the guys who post to my prediction league - makes it much more fun that we have 20+ regular posters, and I am grateful to you all for supporting it. I'd like to add two more awards Predictor of the Year: Rebel - kicking ass this year and last year in my league and doing great in Spurfs league too. Seriously, do the Pools! Best Newcomers: Robspur, KOTL, Freundian - good to have new views Should be more awards, cause there are tons of you I enjoy reading. Croydon, SOS, Moorpheus, Roo, Deedub, WY, Spurm, Boss, Ginger (aka SeriousOne?) Vim, Inda (avatar of the year?), TMT (whose absence was really noticed over the summer break!) RWAEB, King, Junction, Spurlock. And probably several more that won't come to mind. But, it's been a fun year and Merry Xmas to all.
"Most informative poster of the year: Should be the renamed the Spurcat award. Mention here for RDBD though, knows tons about about our club even beyond the first team" Then in my "acceptance" speech I would have to mention looklikemodric and Spurcat. Different people, but their separate ITK stuff always corroborates with eachother (the Bale and Ade/BAE sagas etc) . Spurcat going on about Academy players on BBC606 prompted me to go and have a look at the kids. *** The fact that the Lodge is just up the road from me, and I can work from home, means I have the opportunity to see first-hand what those of you with 9 to 5s and families etc generally cannot. *** And what some of the 606 tribe claimed was Spurcat full of himself about Academy players and being ITK etc, turned out to be in fact true (nothing good/bad said about the kids was nothing you won't see yourself first-hand in a couple of games) . Which in itself gives him a lot more credibility when giving opinions on other matters (Sherwood etc) .
I'll do mine on 31 December - wouldn't want to miss a last minute 'worldy' and in any case I'm having trouble coping with the adulation.
after last year when I named tonnes of people yet still missed some out, as well as having a bit of a joke which didn't go down well with some....I'll be thinking very carefully about what I say! all in due course, SOS.
Can I chip in? Best Spurs poster: PNP - I'll go for the most sensible and most difficult to argue against. Best non- Spurs: Me. It's got to be hasn't it? I enjoy taking part because there's a good group of well rounded people on here. It makes for interesting reading and discussion irrespective of club loyalties. I can assure you that I'm no closet Spurs fan - you're above us in the table ffs. I was willing you to beat City and Liverpool and look what happened Funniest poster: Notsosmartspur. I like his sledgehammer wit and enjoy the quizzes Reminds us all not to take ourselves too seriously. (HBIC runner-up) Buddy: see above Most informative poster: THFC6061 - I like his matchday aka Paul stewart threads. And his own website is fantastic. Special Thanks: Spurf. Got me reinstated on the site 12 months ago when I inadvertantly upset some Liverpool mod. And didn't query why I wanted to post on this board! Best Partisan WUM: HIAG. saved me getting banned again by posting that long running ever so subtle (not) Mouserwatch thread himself for those of us who like a dig at the Scousers.
He's been slating Spurs over our appointment of Sherwood, predicting that we're heading back to midtable, (to quote him) "where we belong."
