I admit to being an 'arm chair plastic'. Did my dues on the bob bank in the late 70s early 80s. After that, playing rugby, earning a living, raising a family and moving to a different part of the country all got in the way. Have been to more away games than home games in the last 20 years because of where I live. As a 'Johnny come lately Hughes' come back in a few years when you've got as many games home and away as I have and this plastic will give you the time of day. Don't mind being called a plastic, doesn't detract from my enjoyment of following the City. Doesn't stop me feeling the pain that most are suffering over the way our club is currently being treated. I always used to say I followed them through thin and thinner (we'd not had any thick in my lifetime) but that has changed. I'd like it to stay that way.
Hull City supporter in peace: Seems like you're all in the trenches, like us! Our madman wants to change our name; your madman has changed your colours and now wants to sack Malky. All the best to you in your fight. Illegitimum non carborundum; Domine salvum fac. Illegitimum non carborundum; Domine salvum fac. Gaudeamus igitur! Veritas non sequitur? Illegitimum non carborundum—ipso facto
Well put The Cardiff fans of the last 10 - 15 yrs have only had good times, no relegations, trips to wembley and a constant upward curve to were we are now.
I hate segregation of fan types. Who do you support? That's good enough for me. Am I a plastic? I didn't go to a single away game last season. Life got in the way. Before that I'd get to between 3 and 8 games away depending on availability. This season Liverpool was my 5th should have been 6th if I'd made it to stoke. I intend to do as many as possible after Xmas. So John am I a glory supporter? A plastic? Jumped on a band wagon? IMO I'm a Fan. I come here to talk to other city fans not to wave my dick about how much more of a fan than them I am.
This thread was started to celebrate how great our fans were yesterday. Its a shame some people feel the need to try and prove themselves as far superior supporter than others. I will say this JH i think everyone on this board has done their bit over the years to try and finally enjoy what is now our first season in the PL. Ive been supporting the city for 23 years. I remember travelling to Rochdale when carl dale was playing. 3000 of us then and Stockport etc ..I still travel back from London every home game and it costs me a fortune but i don't think i am any more of supporter on here than anyone else because as i said above people have paid their dues over the years. we have all put the effort in to supporting the club we love. Some people have had to move because of family, jobs, all kinds of different circumstances but it still doesn't discount the money and time and passion put in- be it past or present. so all i can say is come on guys lets all try get along. we can have difference of opinion on team selection, tactics etc etc- absolutely but our club is having a bit of a public crisis right now so we all need to come together to support the club we ALL SO DEARLY LOVE!and may add- IMO we are one of few clubs Britain that can generate that kind of passion and love for our club so vocally. so come on lets all get behind the boys- UP THE BLUEBIRDS!
Have to say the singing from the support yesterday was amazing. I was on the other end of the anfield road from the travelling fans. The section had the atmsphere of an empty morgue, all I could hear was our lads giving it plenty.
..........Quote me saying "the home fans were crap"............. As i have said , if you were not there you can not comment.
John, You have gone beyond the threshold, the sooner you go and post on AAMB the better for the rest of us. I think a ban until you can talk to other CCFC fans the way you would like to be talked too, is the best way ahead.
sort your head out john ffs...........the Liverpool fans were perfect for this game and they treated malky with the same respect our own did.
Is that a request DJ, or just a suggestion? I think we'd need a consensus before any action is taken, but JH certainly seems to be annoying quite a few members on here with his chav behaviour - me included. The problem would be that a ban would prevent him from talking to fellow Cardiff posters in a decent manner except those that agree with him, so we'd never know. Perhaps we can draw a line under this by him retracting the jibes at those who for whatever reason can't attend away matches, or is that too much to expect? Agreed aber - JH needs to have a rethink in his own interests.
It's just a suggestion Sparkey, JH can be very entertaining at times and I agree with him on a lot of subjects. Just hope he can/will take things on board.
I think he was a little over-excited, must have been an eye-opener for him to be in the middle of it all. I suspect most of us have the "been there, done that" T-shirt. I don't like Cardiff fans having a go at each other because they think they are a better fan, should be more a" wish you could have been there" thing. Tunnel vision creeping in, now some just want Tan out regardless, if that happens they will have their return to the lower leagues they seem to want, IF THEY ARE LUCKY!
John! Please just apologise and we all move on. It's youthful exuberance m8. We are all passionate about our club and sometimes those emotions spill over into anger. I can sometimes get headshot but I'm not to big to apologise if I am wrong on reflection. Merry Christmas John.
Many factors on Saturday not least the impromptu 30 mins of singing, nothing staged or agreed before hand made the day very emotional for all. The alcohol was probably good as well. JH, i reckon Aber put it best: Get your head out of your arse and apologise, because this board would actually be a little less fun without you
Ok lads in soz .....................................;O) But going to Manc City Merry x-mas BLUEBIRDS young nd old ,lol
I was in the Kop and i thought we supported Malky and your team at the end well, respect and sportsmanship costs nothing but apart from the result you lads had a good piss up and a sing song throughout the game and supported your manager through a crisis brilliantly. Don't know what jh expected from us?, with all due respect we weren't playing the mancs or chelsea/arsenal.
