The Phillips one was the least contact. Yossi was body-checked and that would have been given on the half way line imo.

football has turned into such a flipping girls game its ridiculous. Two fairly innocuous incidents in my book. I was sitting 15 foot away and i was bemused at the time. Another ref and there would have been nothing to talk about.
Ref was itching to send Barton off. You can even see it in his face as he's giving him his first yellow.
I completely agree with that, but Barton is well aware that, right or wrong, what he did would get him sent off, having already been booked. He just wanted Boxing Day off.
Point taken, but it's down to the referee to be professional. I'm aware you can argue that Joey also wasn't being that, but what footballer is nowadays? Thought it was the worst refereeing performance I've seen this season.
