Where from? Besiktas has been linked repeatedly, but I cannot see us selling unless there are two CBs inbound in January...it'd be suicidal.
Agreed, average at best. We gifted them all 3 goals really... I said to my Dad that Adebayor was the only one of their players that I could say had a good game.
I wouldn't say that. They looked dangerous and could easily have scored more and they pretty well snuffed out our attack.
We made them look better than they were. They looked good in the last 20 minutes when Sherwood realised how poor we were down the left hand side and they kept attacking that way. I agree they snuffed out our attack and midfield and I noticed that whenever we had the ball (first half particularly) there was no space at all. They filled the holes we normally play through. Fair play. Add to that three gifted goals; game over.
I have been trying not to post tonight as I was so angry......If Pochettino really thinks that Gazza is a premiership goalkeeper then all I can say is we are in for a very tough second half of the season. Am really disappointed in the way we played am also disillusioned in the team he picked. Surely he was asking for trouble putting both josh & Foxy next to each other? We seem to be playing so narrow at times although young Chambers had a brilliant game when he did have a go down the right. How we missed Wanyama for his sturdiness through the middle. Going back to Gazza......for me young Cody would not have made the same errors as Gazza. If either of the other goalkeepers are not near getting back into the team he will have to surely get someone in on an emergency loan.
Who else do we have to pick? Also what else is Pochettino ment to say about Gazzaniga? He can't really say he's **** and not good enough, he is basically all we have.
Oh Beddy, come on. If MP had played Cody in that for his first game and he had a stinker, there would be hell to play. He was between a rock and a hard place. Boruc - brilliant form (ignore Arsenal) breaks hand, KD injured (but let's be honest 50% aren't sure on him anyway) so it's between a lad who has played 5 or 6 games in the prem and one who has played none. What would you really have done?
I have no issues with the team picked...he picked the players that we have remaining, essentially. The mistake was made in August when we opted to push forward with a ridiculously small squad, not today when Poch was filling out the team sheet. As for an emergency loan, that's a possibility in January, but unlike the FL you cannot loan keepers outside the window in the Prem.
Pace. It seems to me that whenever we do things with real pace, i.e. both goals today, we look dangerous but too much of the time, with all our possession, we look ponderous and it is too easy for defenders to mass behind the ball. When I say "pace", I don't mean the ability of individual players to run fast, just moving the ball quickly. Oh and Gazza's main job seems to be picking the ball out of the net which he's quite good at so lay off him!
Given how dodgy their goalkeeper was with crosses I'd have been tempted to do a Wimbledon, maybe even pushing a CD up there for the last few minutes. I hate myself for saying this but we weren't getting their doing what we were doing. Oh and, sorry, Ramirez 3 out of first 4 touches he gave the ball away. That said it was an impossible situation for him and at least he was attempting something different.
lol even I have written him off now. although his next 5 or 6 touches were ok and you chose to ignore them
Anyonw know what Lovren was trying to point out to Rickie and Lambo before Spuds kicked off after our first goal. Picture is on the website to, but I noticed it at the game; he seemed rather animated.
I think you might have made that up. I actually felt sorry for him. Obviously brought on to try and do something clever but it doesn't matter who you are, if you've been sitting on your a***e all season I think it was unreasonable to expect any more than we got. He tried at least.
We cannot compete in this this league with that team, There was so much wrong with today, we where found out in midfield and without naming names we made a average spurs side look good. It is so important that we get our first team back because without them we are very poor. Rickie was absent again and only Adam seemed up for it.
Hope this lad who posted this picture on instagram of him today next to the highly sick & contagious Luke Shaw pulls through to enjoy Christmas. Pray for the lad. please log in to view this image
