"At 1-0 we had the game under control and we could've gone 2-0 ahead but we conceded and practically gifted them a goal. "In the second half we dressed up as Santa Claus and gave them many presents. We made many mistakes and when you make these mistakes, you are punished. We are obviously very angry. "At the beginning of the second half we were controlling the game but we conceded the second goal and it was hard to get back in the game, we were risking a lot. "We just have to keep on working as a team. Before we had a run of seven games winning, and were looking up, now we are on the wrong side and the only thing we can do is keep working."
We were ****ing abysmal in defence. Hooiveld a joke, and Gazzaniga just awful. Our second half display was one of the worst we have seen this season.
One thing puzzling me, is if Luke had a throat infection, why was he allowed to wander around the Kingsland and Chapel signing programmes before the kick off, he could have been spreading the infection?
So what is the injury to Kelvin Davis all about? Something about his back or side? Not even seen him featuring in any photos at the training ground or connected with the club for ages. (ok if he's constantly in the treatment room). Has anyone spotted him at any home games in the crowd?
Luckily we got the points early in the season when we had a settled side. We always knew that we didn't have real depth in quality. The only positive today was proving we can score goals...on another day we'd have got three points. Dreadful goals to give away...desperately need Boruc and Fonte back. No point in getting suicidal...if we'd arrived at 9th by having a mixed start and crawling up the table we'd feel differently.
It was said a similar injury to the one Lambert picked up in England training, but must be a worse case, because it is slow to heal.
We lost a game of football....don't propose to get myself in twist about a comment. Mauricio is not laughing...he's angry and upset. How he phrased it is not really a concern. He's right...they were gifted the goals (though Spurs did play well.)
Only if he was kissing people. The concern is that he called in sick today...his bad throat may not even have peaked yet.
Exactly this. 5 of 6 our defensive unit if you include Wanyama. All at the same time. That's very, very unfortunate and would test a City or Chelsea, let alone a slightly thin squad. I'd be more concerned that Rickie was bog awful again today. Barely won a header and looked ponderous as hell. Shame Malky is secure now, but we really need to be stepping up and winning that game now, whilst hoping one or two of our defence are back.
Thought Lallana, Chambers and Lovren (with his hands full trying to do everything - lovely moment where he came forward, did a couple of stepovers before pinging out a long wide pass) were excellent.
Just text that exactly to a friend, cork had a semi ok game as well I felt, rest didn't turn up today. Tbh when i saw our defense my optimism drained, really hoping fox was gonna have a good game finally but he is such a confidence player, his first half was ok but as soon as he ****ed up in the 2nd half his head just dropped and was back to his usal self.
Chambers had a good game too. Lovren was let down by his keeper and defense, but apart from that he did well. Morgan and Corkie did well in the first half.
Bad day at the office. Lots to complain about, but the most annoying thing of the day.... the fans. No matter how bad a game a player has, there is no excuse for the shocking booing of certain players as there was today. They have been picked to play. We need to back them or their confidence will just get even worse.
