http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Apar...-city-centre/story-20352961-detail/story.html Hopefully the start of a regeneration of the area. Quite sad walking down there nowadays.
Hopefully it is tastefully done - the windows are big and when you look up you can see into the rooms - it seems to have a lot of detailing and original features on the ceiling, including chandelier-like lighting. Once you get rid of original features, there is no bringing them back - so let's hope they keep them.
I know listed buildings may be different but I think all offices can be changed to residential for a 3 year period without planning permission. It also allows Tory builders to not have to provide affordable housing at the same time.Keeps the rich well away from the consequences of increasing the rich-poor divide. The building at the back of the old co-op (not sure if was thornton varleys) has been empty for yonks and is obviously never going to be viable as a retail unit.Would take one hell of a makeover to make it attractive but could accommodate a lot of flats.
It is **** though how the council demand so much of a development be made into 'affordable housing'. It defaces lovely areas with some of the scum that end up occupying these places. Don't look after their gardens or property. In a very prosperous village near me they built a stunning and highly expensive waterside development which has been absolutely shat on by 2 gutter rats occupying the handful of still nice (well above average) council houses down there, who don't cut their lawns, sofas out on the front garden, rest of the garden used as landfill, filthy windows, don't paint or clean anything like fences etc.... it's like 2 houses from shameless. It only takes one to **** up the whole estate. These dirty tramps don't deserve such nice houses in such nice areas, they should be kept well away.
The biggest problem are buy to let investors from darn sarth they buy off plan and let them to DSS tenants, Urban 1 next to Britannia house, Spring Street is a good one, very nice flats however let mostly to immigrants and dole wallahs, one top flat was bought new for 140k recently sold for 62k, if a drug sniffer dog went around there it would get stoned in five minutes. I don't know how it became so easy for someone who is unemployed to get a house in Vicky Dock where some people have spent 200k to buy a house, it's got to stop, if you can't afford to buy a house why should you be allowed to live and blight a nice area like some scum do. I blame the do gooders
Chazz is a power walker. You can often see him in his Rodeo joggers and hoody mincing at speed through these areas. He has buns of steel. Allegedly.
