Sounds stupid but at times I thought Webber, being the nice guy he actually is would move over and give Michael the podium finish, but it is a harsh reminder that every driver is in it to win it and my thoughts were stupid...

To be honest that's what I liked about it. I'm not a fan of drivers making passes without any meaning because they just get passed back next time round. I think the first activation zone may have been too long because drivers seemed to be just driving past without much of a struggle, but being able to use DRS to pull away and thus make the overtake stick was a positive IMO. A second detection zone would have just enabled the slower car to get back past, in which case you might as well not have DRS at all.

They got it massively wrong in my opinion. It was even worse than Turkey, drivers were cruising by unchallenged on the main straight and the DRSing away down the pits straight. I also fail to see how the FIA deem it to dangerous to be used in the tunnel at Monaco, but it's perfectly safe to use it in the wet on a 200mph straight going into a chicane which has a notorious history of crashes??

Anyone know where the second zone is in Valencia? The first will obviously be on the main straight, will the other be into the hairpin? I can't see many of the teams taking the kink in the pits straight with it open.

1 seemed enough, Webber and Button left Schumacher for dead, but that could've been a variety of factors, slipstream, DRS & KERS at the same time, at Turkey it was the same for Rosberg, so possibly something to do with the Mercedes.

    From Crash.net:

"In Valencia, as planned, it will between turns 10 and 12 and again between 14 and 17.”

They have to be consecutive I believe.

There's no race at Hockenheim this year, Nurburgring is still pretty good though and we also have Silverstone, Suzuka and Interlagos to come. Classic season, Melbourne has been the worst race so far and that was decent.

I voted for Schumacher a couple of minutes before the race started. And I was closer than 39 people who voted on time, not to mention plenty who didn't.

Yeh, hopefully Valencia will be better than the last couple of seasons, fingers crossed anyway. If not, then it really must be pulled from the calendar.

Button drove superbly, but that performance is still no match for Schumachers effort in Barcelona in 96. That's the greatest drive i've ever seen.

I don't think that the DRS will be too important in spain. It's the tyres that i'm watching out for. Pirelli are taking the untried (in race condition) medium tyre from what i'm hearing.

Fred, are you just going for that one week where everything goes wrong for everyone else, so you can do the whole "I told you so" routine?!

The DRS was really effective here, a dry race would've made overtaking too easy and ruined the race imo:

On another note, we're not far from 1000 posts on this thread. Of course, if xiglly was here this wouldn't be an achievement.

I had noticed the 1000 posts thing, that not bad for one weeks work! I can't believe I've made over 100 posts on here though, I need to get out more! Interesting clip there Forza, I agree that DRS was possibly a little over-effective, with many drivers going clean through before even reaching the last chicane, so probably a good job it was wet. Still, the FIA will learn for next year.
