I am pleased with the result as in the last few games when we lose a goal we have lost, except in Leeds. A good result in a game that could have been very difficult for the visiting Hornets, how much was the new manager or the new manager effect?

Hyam should have buried that Header to make it 2-1 at the death but in the end happy enough with the result and we are still very much in touch with the play-off pack.

Have a good Christmas Hornets! <ok>

    Another good away result.

Points on the road are good but we need to start winning at home!

    Our new coach speaks:

“I think the position now is not where Watford should be at the moment and in two days I couldn’t do any more than I did and if we had of picked up three points today, it would have been because of Gianfranco.

“What I gave was my way on the touchline and the way I am with the lads - to live the game with passion.”

From the commentary it did sound that he gave his all on the touchline, in and out of the technical area. I suspect that on dull days he might provide some entertainment.

    Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy said:

"I will take a point as Watford are a good side. Last year they came here and absolutely murdered us. So it shows how far we have come.

"Overall, maybe they deserved a point because we weren't that dominant.

"I like him [Sannino], I like his passion on the side and he had a smile on his face."

Watford head coach Giuseppe Sannino said:

"It was a dream for me to land in England and this game was 90 minutes of my life that I was always dreaming about.

"I have only been here for two days and I am not a magician. I knew the kind of football in the Championship but my first thoughts are with Gianfranco Zola.

"He did an amazing job last season and this was his team. I was able to show my passion on the touchline and I thought, tactics-wise, we were good, but there is a lot of work to do."

from the BBC above. At least he 'talks' a good game. MM with a bit of praise too. Did he say that or was it translated??

    Anyways, undefeated in one!

Have a great xmas and new Year all!! :)

I'm thinking we have found a new touchline entertainer to rival Harry... Passion and technical nouse will be very very welcome, I also don't think he'll be intimidated by other bosses and could make a name for himself putting roland rat and warlock in their places if they ever get employed...

From McCarthy "On Watford’s new Italian manager Giuseppe Sannino – who, along with his backroom staff, can’t speak English – McCarthy said: “I wasn’t having a ding-dong with him, far from it. I was actually telling the fourth official to shut up and leave him alone. The poor little fella has just come in to English football, he’s had four days in charge and all he’s done is step out of the (technical) box! Apparently the linesman can’t run up and down.

“It wasn’t a polite, ‘please step back’ either, it was a ‘stand in your box or get sent to the stands’. I went ‘you what?! Do me a favour, let’s make him welcome’.

“I think some of their bench misconstrued what I was saying, they said something to me and I said ‘I’m trying to help him, I’m on his side, shut up!’

“I like him, I like his passion on the sides and he had a smile on his face.”

Don't think I would call him a "poor little fella" though.

It bounced off his leg onto his arm. There was ABSOLUTELY no way he intended to handle it.

Never in 10,000,000 years. The ref was a clown all match and even failed to spot (more likely ignored) Fabbrini nearly having his shirt lifted over his head by the defender.
