I think we need 25 points from the next 21 games. We are more organised and harder to beat but we MUST put those chances away. Four good early new year home wins would be almost half of them. That's the positive spin. We aren't out of it by any means but unless we take what chances we get we may have to start planning for next season sooner or later, probably sooner.
I've seen enough relegation battles to know that it's one tiny step at a time and holding your nerve ....... Poyet will get us there mate
I'm still very hopeful Smug. I'm also hoping for a bit of Gus magic in the transfer dept, early doors! There was a reality check though from Gus after the match. Couldn't hide his disappointment. We desperately need a change of fortune though in the new year. I'm hoping both cups can help raise confidence, though it has to be said, Tuesdays result didn't seem to inspire today's performance. Wes and JoS are also a cause for concern over the next few weeks. Just when they were beginning to look the business as well.
We have a settled side and a good bench ....... we have 7 'relegation sides' to play at home and another guaranteed 3 points off the Mags. I've already booked flights for the away leg of the semi, Newcastle away and Cardiff at home .... all party time for Smug. We'll be fine
Well that's great but you're answering salt with pepper P.S. I know that doesn't make sense but I'm ****ing plastered
That's what I mean we are not beating the teams around us.that dosnt mean we are doomed but we must win some games soon ok
I don't think you'll go down, you're keeping clean sheets and generally keeping opposition out, although you need to stop getting red cards Ofcourse in your position you need to start winning as sooner rather than later, but at christmas you're only a few points from safety, it's not like your 8-10 points, this january window will be the biggest window in terms of importance for a while i'd imagine, so many teams a few points off here and there. I do want you to go down purely because one spot taken up is one less for my team to take, although if city stay up, i'd rather you stayed up But i'd be feeling confident, the next month has over 6 games i believe, who knows what the situation will be then
We'll be in the PL next season, will win a cup and do the double over Newcastle .......... I'd have taken that before the season started
Well you're far from dead and buried. The issue in the last few games hasn't been falling behind 17th as you really haven't but the mid-table sides have made strides ahead so instead of being 4-5 points from mid-table you've only now got a handful of teams within touching distance. You only need to finish above 3 though and I still think you'll be able to do that, not losing against West Ham was major as if that had been a loss the table would be looking much worse for you. Marathon not a sprint and January is a huge month for you - the pressure is converting games like today into wins, they wont all go that way but you do need to convert these draws into wins or you'll be sunk. An in form Fletcher would sort you right out. Good luck, you'll stay up but a) lose to us at St James b) lose to Man Utd in the semis. 16th place.
Most of us on here have been through too many relegation or fighting relegation seasons. Honestly. Truthfully. Sincerely. This does not feel like a relegation season to me. Will be both pissed off and oh so relieved when we finish 17th - yet again. x
