OK We should have won but in the end the Watford bogey curse prevails yet again but at least we have a draw and we move up to 9th in the league! Still only 3 points off the play-offs and you have to say that out of all of our Christmas fixtures this one is the most tricky! I am gutted for Luke Hyam as he knows he should have buried that header to win us the game and I just hope that everyone now just gets off his back! He is a young player still learning the game. Last year Watford wiped the floor with us and this year we should have won so it is another indication of how far we have progressed this season. No teams around us won with Leeds and Forest drawing, Reading and Blackpool losing so we are as you were! Still everything to play for and the next 3 should see us into a very promising position at the turn of the year! A very Merry Christmas to all my fellow Not606 Townies!
Nice snappy and upbeat summary Warky, thanks! And here's wishing you and yours, and all our bunch on here, a very Merry Xmas, loads of good cheer and barrells of good beer! ( and the odd goal please!)
Yeah I agree with you Hoppers but look on the bright side! SEB will be up top with Didsy pretty soon! <mouthwatering emoticon>
My Sons girlfriend is a bloody Charlton fan! Will be good to see you mate I still have fond memories of that Villa game!
Quite right jonny, we didnt win but no damage done and as you pointed out Watford beat us easily last season, in fact I thought they were the best team in the division and were nailed on for promotion but thats football. Are we making progress under MMs guidance? Undoubtedly yes. Are we good enough for promotion this season? Not with this team but it wont take many quality additions for us to improve to the next step. What a pleasant change to be looking up instead of over our shoulder, exciting times indeed. Have a good Christmas jonny and the same goes for all Townies especially the travelling fans I ll meet up with at Bournmouth.
I think a front 3 with Goldy just behind Murphy and Blakey is the way to go.... Merry Christmas Everyone....
