Dear fellow QPR fans, Apologies for not being a regular poster on this forum even though I am an avid reader. I am thankful for you and the faithful support to the Club. You have made such a difference! So, thank you. As for Christmas, which is a time of celebration, family time, etc⦠I am thankful for one thing. That one thing is the reason for this season: Jesus. No need to label me. I am just thankful that He changed my life from death and destruction to one that is full of life and purpose. I currently work for an NGO that helps some of the poorest communities on earth become self-sustainable. I have had the privilege to see the lives of many hopeless people become transformed. I have to pinch myself to think that I am allowed to be a part of such a thing. I have even been promoting the name of QPR everywhere I go In any case, I am thankful for this club and you fans. Exciting times ahead. Thank you for your support. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas. Come on you R's!!!!! Richard
EDIT: Richie, sorry mate that was a bit harsh on my part, I do apologise. Fair play to you for doing such important work. Respect mate. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too pal.
haha, no worries. I've heard it all before. The Gospel helped transform the Western world as we know it. The Bible is the most reliable ancient document we have so no need to believe in hocus pocus stuff mate. Love the Rangers though. Where do you guys meet on a Saturday? Take care
It was an asshole comment on my part. Thought I was being funny you know. I don't live in London mate but I think the guys meet in the Crown and Sceptre?
Sorry, but how can you say the Bible is the 'most reliable ancient document we have'? In which way and opposed to what?
The New Testament affirms the prophecies of the Old Testament (a million to one chance) Secular historians like Josephus affirm the claims of the Bible Historians affirms the historicity of Jesus Jesus' tomb is empty (so where is he?) Noah's ark has been found Where does morality and ethics come from? (does evolution provide the answer?) I could go on but don't want to bore this forum. Please feel free to contact me personally. Take care
quick someone start an adel thread deflect them all away from religion the last religion thread didn't end well
I accept that Jesus was an historical figure; the stuff about Noah's Ark and Jesus' tomb (how do they know which one was Jesus' tomb?!) I think I'll pass on. Anyway, your statement doesn't answer why the Bible should be considered the most reliable of ancient documents. Is it more reliable than Tacitus' 'Germania' or 'Agricola', Caesar's 'Gallic Wars' and so forth. Having faith in the value of certain information isn't the same thing as that information begin historically reliable.
