henderson playing deeper is why he's showing that he can pick a pass. when he's less time or has back to goal his weaknesses come to the fore. ITs just finding his strengths and playing to them. the back heels and range of passing he is showing are excellent.

I agree on johnson, he swaggered out here not too bothered and it showed. flanagan showed him up. So unless some injury comes out that prevented him from getting up and down i think we can call him a big time charlie... which is fine for the next two games of course.

    good 60mins.

i blame sahko for the goal. he had two men on him and never called for support.

Don't know where to begin with this nonsense. Have you ever played in defence?

  4. Did he ****. I did the oh well because it was ruining three points.

Funny how no one else picked up on the handball too though eh? #biasedness

When did it even happen after he hit the post?

    #385
  6. Yeah, it was still in play when it came back off the post and Suarez caught the ball before running out of play with it.

Rather than bias I think most people were just too preoccupied by the near miss even notice the handball. It was trivial anyway considering it gained us nothing. Would been pretty pedantic of the ref to book him for it.

I think it's harsh to blame Sakho for that goal - yes you could argue that he should have called for support but he had his man o he did his job in that sense.

Who was responsible for marking Mutch? ...

But the general defending of set pieces and crosses is extremely poor.

Because there's no leader, no one organises the team for defending set pieces. It's a major flaw in our game and will bite us very soon unless we sort it out.

Toure is our only leader in defence ... if fully fit, would like to see him play alongside Sakho.

I'd love to see a Toure/Sahko partnership, I think that has all the attributes to make a succesful partnership in the short-term.

Yes, but Hendo took over the honours of providing some quality through balls today. 2 led to goals and a couple more could have easily been as successful if we could finish.

42 goals already this season <yikes>

I think Coutinho's been immense since his return, just needs to add more goals.

    Question

With Henderson putting arguably his two best performances in for us a row, is Gerrards absence in the squad benefiting our midfield? With Jordan not having to do his running, are we really see Jordan Henderson make that step up from workhorse to creator? 3 assists and 1 goal in the last 2 games, and put the ball through to Suarez to square to Sterling.

Dissapointing 2nd half and was startled by BR's changes.
We should have had atleast 5-6 goals. I don't get why he went defensive suddenly, Bringing in Agger for Coutinho was ridiculous.
Wonder if he was doing his buddy a favor.

We were playing Cardiff at home ffs, should have brought in Alberto or Aspas and gone for more goals.
We lost the fluidity once Coutinho was taken off. I just felt the players and the manager panicked after they pegged one back, they were clearly 2nd best up until that goal. We should have pushed harder for another goal like in the Norwich game instead of succumbing to the pressure.

Would have been a real boost going into the Chelsea game after a proper hammering. But i'll take the 3 points anyways.

  18. It is about getting the best out of the team, if that means Gerrard doesn't play then so be it.

They were to busy picking on poor Skrtel, whilst I have seen penalties given for those, there was one in particular where Owen was laying into Skrts and they both clearly had arms round each other, as was the case with most of the pulls, but I do agree he looked particularly dodgy today ;)
