Always going to be difficult when a team snatches a goal and then puts 10 players behind ball....

The substitutions were poor. We made it too easy for them in the second half by switching to a game we don't really know how to play. Pearson got his tactics right. Harry didn't. We can and do know how to play a passing game precisely because we have a 5 man midfield. If we're going to chase the game we need to replace a defender not a midfielder. Leicester had got what they wanted. Their focus in the second half was always going to be to ensure we did not create anything so why bother with 4 defenders? Either Hill or Dunne should have been sub'd particularly after Vardy had been replaced. The one chance they did have in the second half would not have fallen to them if we were still playing 5 men in midfield. Simpson and Asso-Ekotto have the pace to deal with breakaways. We needed to move the ball much more quickly and use the width of the pitch. Why bother with two wingers if we're not going to do that? We have a number of players who don't really have the temperament for a fight and when things don't go their way they lose interest. On the basis of the two games against Burnley and Leicester, you'd have to say that they are better than we are.

Yes I doubt Kranky. The only reason I knew he was still on the pitch in the second half was because he was whining to the ref. Did you only watch the first half? I ask because our play in the second half was about as poor as it's been this season.

Agreed Yorkie, we were poor in the 2nd half but to be honest...we should have been 3 goals clear by then
Who have we got that could have replaced Kranky ...? And dont mention the clowns name.

Watched the whole game and TBH im not that bothered by the score TBH. We showed that we can play as a team and thats the best TEAM performance I've seen for a long time. Very happy and e loked good

How do you think we'd have done with our morrocan love child playing for us today then?

If you cannot see a team uniting then thats your issue. we were by far the better team and even the most ardent Leicester fan would admit that.
So Yorkie.....ae we allowed to lose twice in the first half of the season?

Someone was showing me the shots on goal and was saying we werent boring because we were getting 4 attempts per match.
We had 20 today and only played well in a half. 75% of the shots they count are in no way threatening to score a goal.
They should use a "chances" stat that they use in the NHL which is a much better reflection even if the shot is off target, after all a shot wide when clean through is a better chance than a mishit 35 yarder on target.

Some of the body language out there today didn't reaaly look like a united team.

Not overly bothered by that result, at least not in terms of the season. Frustrating now obviously.

We've played much worse than that and won this season. Leicester played their game exactly right. Fair play to them.

    QPR midfielder Joey Barton

"The most ridiculous red card ever. If that is two yellows the game has gone. Will have to refrain from commenting on the referee for fear of furthering a one match ban.

"It would help if we had full time referees IMO. Ah well, the way they handled the squirrel [1229] summed it up.

"We will bounce back from this. Its a long season. Fair play to Leicester. They stuck to their game plan and defended for their lives."

Can't fault any of that. Agree 100%.

    It was a good game.

I was surprised Nige went with 4 in midfield. Thought he'd play 4-3-3 with Knocky and Dyer given more freedom. Instead Knocky had to keep coming in to dictate play.

Although I can't argue. Nigel won the managerial battle hands down. Was always 2 steps in front of the wheeler dealer.

Austin was ****ing ****e as were your centre halves. Barton did nothing but I thought Kranjcar was awesome. Rob Green looked dodgy and I thought Phillips was quite lively.

I didn't realise you had Tom Carroll on loan, I only realised when he went off.

All in all we deserved the win. First half you shaded but second we were comfortable and played th counter attack really well and were unlucky not to score more.

In a way i'm quite dissapointed that we didn't pull further ahead. Dyer had two very good chances and James was unlucky with his piledriver (although it did take a deflection).

I thought the ref was superb (Squirrel-gat aside) and those who went to the game and felt aggrieved by his decisions should rewatch on the FLS or a SKY recording because he got everything spot on.

Didn't see the game so no comment. Before the Barton fan club tell us how he was hard done by,
Picked on because of reputation, once again MOM etc etc, let me just register how delighted I am I won't be seeing him at Forest on Thursday. Perhaps he did it on purpose to have Christmas with baby Cassius. Sincerely hope he travels with the squad and sits in the stands.

Fully expect us to set up for a draw on Boxing Day.

I really hope we dont slip into the playoffs. 2 games against Leicester and Burnley and 2 losses. How different the table would look if those games were reversed.

Shaded the 1st half? We should have had at least 2 or 3 goals, we dominated. The 2nd was even though.

    You had one clear chance.

Phillips got through, had a **** first touch and put it over.

Two minutes before Vardy got through, had a great first touch and stuck it in the net.

You only really had pot shots from outside the box. We'd have been disappointed to go in to the changing rooms having conceded.

Let's not waste time diverting the debate into your favourite hobby horse. Taarabt won't be back at least not until Redknapp has gone. So in respect of my response to your initial opinion do you agree that 2 of your 3 positives from the game are wrong. If you are lulled into thinking we were by far the better team simply because of a superior possession and shot count good luck to you. They came with a typical away team game plan and executed it to perfection. I would say they achieved their objective and were there fore the better team on the day. We united as a team last week at Blackpool, rode our luck and then sharpened up and won comfortably.

Still I can't expect a better response from someone who cannot even count and who is still obsessed by someone who does not play for us any longer.

The ref did well for Leicester, not surprised you thought he was superb!

I expected more from Leicester but only because sitting back and scoring with your sole attack is not how they usually play. You wouldn't be second if that was your usual game plan.

    Aye.

But we don't play top of the league away with slow defenders every week, do we?

Simpson, Dunce, Hill and Assou-Ekotto were run rragged by our pace.

Redknapp was too arrogant and naive to change the way you play for the situation.

Nigel knew the opportunity was there for the counter attack and his tactics were spot on.

Honestly though, rewatch and tell me what you think the ref got wrong and we'll discuss it.

I thought he bottled the O'Neil tackle on Knockaert. If thats later in the game it's a straight red no questions.

Christ man what game were you watching? Second best for the entire 90 minutes, 20 shots to 9, 6 on target to 2, and 61% possession to 39%.

I hope for your sake your management aren't as jaundiced as you are. No one was run ragged, you had two shots on target and cowered in your own half all game. BAE had Knockaert (who?) in his pocket, and simpson was untroubled.

Always pleased to read a balanced and objective view from an opposing fan. If you watch the replay, Hoilett should have had a penalty since there was more contact than in the one that Chelsea were awarded.

More possession, more shots on target and flair. The better team lost.

For me the positive was that, having seen Leicester play, I am confident we will finish above them since they will not have poor refs like that all season.

    Onwards and upwards.
