This guy has done some coaching after a decent playing career, but listening to him just now, you'd think he's been a Premier League Manager for years!

He is talking a load of ****e and i'm hopeful he gets the job. <ok>

Am I the only one who thinks that the football was much better against Wet Spam despite losing. At least we moved the ball quickly and passed the ball forward. (I watched the game with the sound turned off). Rather than take a punt on the first manager who comes along, we can leave Sherwood in charge and see how he does. This season is pretty much a write-off now anyway.

Either he's using reverse psychology so Levy gets his backside in gear ahead of schedule...or we should be very, very worried.

No your not, the first part of the game was an improvement, pretty good at times as you say, didn't make the most of the chances as usual, should have been 2up at HT.

agree with this, my thoughts exactly, personally I would have kept avb untill summer to avoid the turmoil, but as it stands now leave sherwood for remainder of the season and then rethink things

    Rethink things ??

I would hope we have a chairman who is at least capable of making an intelligent decision now, rather than taking the next 6 months to mull it over.

The intelligent decision is surely not to rush into things and then make an assessment of the situation at the end of the season. It's not the ideal situation to be in but that's where we find ourselves. Sometimes one has to step back and take stock.

I think so, yes. We did that when we signed 7 new players. Everyone was saying that we would take time to gel. Even the old git down the road pointed out that any team that tries to integrate more than three new players is likely to fail.

I was wondering this, not sure why everyone is so pessimistic to be honest, we're still in touch with the pack, if the right decisions are made now we still have every chance of a successful season.

Even allowing for our poxy goal difference, we are still only two games away from a CL place. There's a lot of points to play for and to write off this season is unthinkable imo. As WY says, if the right decisions are made pdq, then we can challenge.

It wasn't too long ago we where a top four club, now we're writing off a season and fairly happy from playing better football against West Hams 2nd string side.

Passing the ball is our next target! And then we can progress to scoring goals.

Passing the ball quickly (first touch) and broadly in the direction of the opponents goal.

what I meant to say was it seems that theres not a lot of managers out there at the moment who are available or are willing to leave the clubs they are with, so stick with sherwood untill the end of the season then go after the man or men you really want

We can can tick off these as the team shows evidence in the league and then it will show progress. We can do this ( I think) :p

But is this really a good idea? Realistically, we could lose a lot more games and end up finishing mid-table which makes us a far less desirable team to a reputable manager than right now, being a few places and points off the top four and still in Europe. That picture could look far worse come May time!

"I need to talk about philosophies, what are we looking to do, are we looking to buy players, or are we looking to bring them through?" he said. "All of this has got to be taken into consideration when I decide whether it is right enough for me or not.
"It's up to the chairman and the board to make the correct decision that's right for the long-term future of the club as it's not good to keep changing managers.
"I listen to managers all the time talking about 'the project'. The project is you win games or you get sacked - end of story."

    _____________

    Come back Avb Lol! :p

There are alot of rumours going round, so take them with a pinch of salt but the rumours are.

He was a boyhood Arsenal fan which in itself isn't a major problem but he says we're his club.

He apparently brown nosed Levy and has been working his way to the top through his ruthless and arrogant personality. If he has the talent to back this up then not an issue.
Other rumour is he was undermining Avb and due to his close relationship with Levy put doubts in his mind about Avb as a manager and his project.

As said all rumours but the more he speaks the more he sounds like someone who is trying to run before he can walk and he probably does think he's the man to give us our club back.

Over to you Tim and to back up your words with actions.
