Why would Levy think Benitez would come to us from Napoli? Not that I'd want him, but even so.

Because all the better managers are in Jobs and probably don't want to risk their career by working for Roman MK2.

Unless we make them a dizzy offer.

Most decent managers don't want to move mid-season. Laudrup said as much.

Someone at the club convinced Levy that Sherwood would be a viable short term option while they seek a replacement, but the sacking was planned so they must have complied a list of possible names and as decent managers don't get appear out of thin air, the names being mentioned are as good as it gets right now.

That would be some move but Baldini & Redknapp? ! Plus Sherwood apparently has a personal grudge against Redknapp (according to info posted on here). Redknapps face (and mouth) just doesn't fit well with certain people at the club but if Levy stopped listening to people he would probably take Redknapp back if circumstances where different!

Redknapp has been in the press today saying give the job to Sherwood. Sounds like they are pretty chummy to me

I think that Sherwood will be off anyway, assuming that he doesn't get the job. Swindon, probably.

fair enough, only going by a source I trust who said Redknapp stopped Adam Amith moving to QPR as at the time they had a personal issue, maybe thats moved on? or Redknapp is being sly by saying SHerwood should take the job.

Sherwood may want a crack at management so yes that's possible, as judging by his comments he seems to believe he deserves a shot at being our manager, based on what? his experience? tactical nous or ego!

I don't know if QPR employ a DOF, be interesting to find out if Redknapp works with one there.

Can't think of anything less interesting than what Redknapp does at QPR.

I can't understand why he said he has to be in the frame just because he's our caretaker manager. Chris Hughton and Clive Allen weren't when they had to fill in.

See the last part of his comment
Redknapp was opinionated but he had a way of winning people over. Sherwood strikes me as the opposite and would be similar to Hoddle in terms of crap man management with premier league top players. Queue jokes about us having no top players!

What happened was Redknapp brought in the son of ex-Chelsea player Alan Hudson as a coach working with the fringe squad. Hudson Junior had been an apprentice at West Ham when Harry was there and Harry believed he had a big future as a coach. Anyway he did the work that Sherwood had been doing and Tim's position was completely undermined. Hudson then went on to get a managerial job at Newport where he was a disaster and he is now working abroad somewhere. Our Tim never forgave Harry and allegedly made several un complimentary remarks to Levy about Him towards the end of his reign.

I can assure you they are most definitely not "chummy".
